Charlotte acted like the awkward moment earlier had never happened. She straightened up and said, "Mr. Houston, please come here."
She handed over the herbs she had prepared earlier and instructed him, "When you get home, soak these in water for 15 minutes. They're for promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling. Also, this medicine is to be taken after meals. It's three times daily, and no dose can be missed."
Henry nodded and remembered her instructions. "I'll keep this in mind, Dr. Mandy!"
Once she passed him the supplies, she packed her things and prepared to leave. Before leaving, she reminded them, "Same time tomorrow for treatment."
Just as she was about to leave, a small tug on her sleeve stopped her.
Kayden's soft voice said, "Ma'am, please wait a second."
"What's wrong?" Charlotte lowered her gaze to look at him.
His eyes sparkled as he offered, "Thank you for your hard work, Pretty Ma'am. Since it's dinner time, let's eat together. Consider it a thank-you for helping to treat my daddy!"
Hearing how he addressed her, she froze momentarily, and a flicker of surprise crossed her face. "You recognized me?"
He smiled sweetly and nodded. "Yes! I knew it was you the second I saw you!"
Charlotte couldn't contain her surprise.
She had disguised herself and changed her voice, yet he still recognized her.
She chuckled and patted his head. "You've got a sharp eye!"
Behind them, Brian's gaze narrowed slightly. "Have you two met before?"
Obviously, they did. They had even eaten together.
But Charlotte merely pursed her lips and didn't respond.
Kayden, on the other hand, was delighted to fill him in. "We did! When I told you at the hospital that day that I met an amazing doctor, it was Pretty Ma'am! But you didn't believe me. And now, it turns out the person you found is her, too."
By the end, Kayden's tone carried a bit of dissatisfaction.
