The rest of the day was spent with me and Calvin sitting on the couch, with a TV show playing but none of us were watching. We just talked and we talked about a lot of things.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked him. As much as I didn't want to bring the matter up, I was still curious.

"You can ask me anything..."

"Why did you still stick up with Valerie when you have found me?"

Calvin seemed surprise with my question but I couldn't help it. I found out that Valerie had moved back to her cabin along with Matt and her brother, Jayden. That was why Calvin was there at her place the other day; to clear out his stuffs and I tried to look past the reason why he had accidentally leaned against Valerie. And despite of all that and believing that Valerie probably wouldn't interfere in our relationship anymore, I was still curious.

"Baby, I don't have feelings for her..."

"No, I just want you to answer the question. I just want to know why didn't you stand up with me and still stood by Valerie and be committed to the relationship... physically." I wanted to ask him calmly but somehow, I became a tad emotional and when Calvin sensed the disappointment in my voice, he sighed before answering.

"Valerie depended so much on me. I didn't want to be committed to her or anything when I first met her but as time goes by, I felt that I could really use Valerie as a friend and more of a partner. I was 16 and while the rest of my friends had found their mate, I was still in search. And then being with Valerie kinda give me a clue that perhaps my mate might have been killed in the rogue attack. It then make both Valerie and I become mate less. I waited for a while more but when I still couldn't locate my mate, I decided to be committed with Valerie."

"When I found you, I was shocked. I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me but your scent, your face and everything about you just couldn't leave my mind. I didn't know how to leave Valerie because I didn't want her to feel upset. I've watched her rise from being so broken and I just didn't want to see her go crumbling down again. I didn't want my effort to go to waste but at the same time I want to be with you. I've been waiting for you for a long time and when I found you, I just didn't know what to do."

"I was hoping that you would understand but I didn't understand the pain you were going through until I started seeing how much you didn't want to be here and be with the... bloodsucker. To be honest, even when I see you with Brody, I was jealous but I thought perhaps Brody could take my place for a while until I settle everything with Valerie. And then you brought up the matter about being mated to someone else and I knew I had to do something right. I went to the pack house and I heard about mating between you and Alpha Brody and I went mad."

"And the next thing I know, I lost you. But now I hope to have you back and I hope you would let me make up to all of the other things that I have done wrong to you. I wasn't a good mate but I promise you I would be better and I need you to guide me as well," Calvin pleaded.
