"That's why I returned her back. But I watched her and I saw how she was treating you. I had to come back. I had to make her realize who you are and why she should be with you. I saw and heard her saying about wanting to be with me, that was why I showed her in all of her dreams and nightmare that I was not her good choice. You are, Calvin - no matter how bad you are to her, you're still the best for her and I hope you realize that."
And he paused, probably letting me think for a while. I understood everything that he had said except the part about his mate. I didn't get it what he was trying to say but it was not important. He didn't come here to pick up a fight with anybody. He was just telling the truth, but for what?
"So why are you telling me all these? What's your motive?" I questioned, harshly. I didn't mean to be rude but I never plan to be kind to his kind especially him.
"I'm not trying to get you to thank me for bringing you and Beatrix closer even though in all matter of fact, I did. I'm here to apologize to you for I had been scaring Beatrix in her nightmares all these while as well as taking her away from you and have the intention of keeping her for myself. She have opened up my eyes in every way that I couldn't have done it alone. I wouldn't want to lose someone like her in my life but I also know that I am not suitable to be in her life."
"I know Calvin, even without me having to tell you this, you would have done this with your whole heart. Take care of Beatrix. Love her sincerely and protect her well. I'm not trying to teach you, but I've seen how she was hurt when she thought you didn't want her. I don't want to feel any regret sending her back, where she is supposed to be."
I listened to him and I made sure I listened him well. I didn't interrupt at all. I was starting to feel that this bloodsucker had a heart but it was probably because of Beatrix. Somehow, I didn't feel any jealousy towards this bloodsucker but I was proud that both Beatrix and Gabriel was in each other's life because they had changed a tiny perception in themselves over something.
Beatrix now could accept me because of how Gabriel had made her realize that she would be needing me and wouldn't have done so otherwise no matter how strong she was. And Gabriel... I believed Beatrix had changed him in many ways. Gabriel probably was not going to go rogue and killing and kidnapping people again. And then, he talked about his new-found and cursed mate and I'm sure he didn't want his mate to suffer like Beatrix did if I had left her.
They both changed each other for the better.
"Thank..." I was about to say when I looked only to see that Gabriel had gone. Rude much? No goodbye, take care or whatever?
I made a scowling face and then I heard a scream from the inside. "Calvin!!"
