Candice abruptly ended the call. Henry's words sounded ludicrous.

He had been forcing Candice to break up with Alex previously, and now he had suddenly changed his stance. He must have learned about Alex's identity and deemed it advantageous.

A hint of mockery flickered in her eyes. Henry had truly surprised her yet again.

Candice looked down, shielding her thoughts. She wanted to look for Abel, but as she turned around, she noticed Sonia standing not far away, seemingly waiting for her.

Seeing Candice looking at her, Sonia walked over and stopped in front of Candice. She raised her eyebrows, waiting for Candice to speak.

Candice, with an indifferent expression, looked at her and asked coolly, "Do you need something?"

A trace of displeasure crossed Sonia's face as she chuckled.

"I heard that Burning Star Studio wanted to participate in Redshade Corporation’s tender conference, Ms. Renault. You should know that I'm currently working with Mr. Howles."

She spoke while glancing at Candice, her eyes revealing an undisguised sense of triumph, as if she was above Candice.

However, Candice understood her intention. This was her way of flaunting, especially since Burning Star Studio was waiting for Redshade Corporation's selection.

No wonder Sonia looked so pleased with herself.

Candice responded calmly, "So, what are you implying? Are you trying to say that with just a word from you, Mr. Howles will reject Burning Star Studio?"

She seemed indifferent, with not much ripple in her expression.

A frown formed on Sonia’s forehead. Suppressing the unnamed anger within, she looked at Candice and raised her voice, saying, "Ms. Renault, I'm advising you out of goodwill. After all, Burning Star Studio doesn't have a good reputation in Dorrington. When the previous incident happened, even a big company like Aether Corporation knew about it."

She sneered, regaining some confidence. "So, instead of acting superior in front of me, you'd better think about how to improve Mr. Howles’s impression of Burning Star Studio."

Candice responded calmly, "Burning Star Studio's affairs don't concern you."

Her attitude remained composed, showing no signs of the urgency and dejection Sonia had imagined.

Sonia gave Candice one more glance before leaving in frustration.

As she walked away, Angela approached Candice. "What did Sonia want from you? She seemed to be surrounded by bad energy. Was she here to pick a fight?"

Candice asked, "You can sense that?"

"A little," Angela joked, then pointed in the direction of Abel. "Earlier, Mr. Franklyn said he wanted to see you, but I didn't disturb you because you were on the phone. It seems Mr. Franklyn has been called away. You can look for him later."

Candice nodded and was about to speak when her phone vibrated.

Glancing down, she saw a text from Henry, providing a location. It seemed he wanted her and Alex to join him for dinner tonight.

Candice ignored the message and turned off her phone.

Angela looked at her and asked, "Are you not in a good mood?"

Candice looked in Yondu’s direction and replied, "I'm going to look for Mr. Franklyn."

While Candice ignored Henry’s text, Henry was sweating away and staring at his phone.

He stood in the corridor, waiting for Candice's reply as his gaze kept shifting to the nearby private room.

He had arranged a casual meetup with business friends here today, but he ran into Stephan Kemp.

Stephan's status was beyond his reach. Henry wanted to go up and say hello to Stephan with his friends, but that was when he noticed Alex, who was with Stephan.

He assumed Alex was just here to flatter Stephan and thought nothing of it, but he was taken aback when his friend recognized Alex and said he was Mr. Elysian from Dorrington's Aether Corporation.

Henry had only heard about Aether Corporation and didn't have much understanding.
