Chapter 149 He Doesn’t Care
Even if Janet said so, Anastasia still didn’t believe her.
If Janet really didn’t covet Nathaniel, how could she have chased him all the way to Austin?
Scheming woman!
Anastasia thought she was right to come. Otherwise, Janet and Nathaniel might do something these days.
“How can you say that about Nathaniel? I know you are unwilling, but you two have divorced…”
Janet felt nauseous when she heard her pretentious voice. She didn’t want to listen to her nonsense anymore, so she turned around and swiped her card to get into the room. Nigel followed her in.
Nathaniel clenched his fists tightly and watched them enter the room with a gloomy face.
Anastasia acted as if she hadn’t noticed it and went straight to Nathaniel.
“Nathaniel, don’t look at them anymore.” Anastasia said in a sweet voice, “We can’t interfere with what kind of man Ms. Longfellow is dating. It seems they have a good relationship. You…”
Before she could finish her sentence, she received a cold look from Nathaniel.
Anastasia shut her mouth and leaned on his shoulder gently.
However, she felt a great sense of crisis!
Nathaniel had changed. He hadn’t reacted so strongly when Anastasia had badmouthed Janet.
*Nathaniel are you tired?” Anastasia asked gently, “Shall I massage you in your room? I have learned new techniques…”
Nathaniel pushed her away expressionlessly, while he had just let Anastasia cuddle up to him when Janet had been around.
“What are you doing here?” His tone was flat, and no emotion could be detected.
Anastasia hated Janet’s guts, but Anastasia could not show it. She forced a smile and said to Nathaniel, “I missed you, so I wanted to see
you.”
“You’ve seen me. You can go back now.”
Nathaniel didn’t say anything more, and he didn’t even glance at her before asking her to leave.
But she didn’t want to leave.
If she left. Janet might pester Nathaniel, so how could she leave?
Anastasia sniffed, and her voice was trembling when she spoke again.
“Nathaniel, I know you still have a grudge against me… But I really just want to see you. I don’t dare to have any extravagant hopes anymore. Just let me look at you, okay?”
She grabbed Nathaniel’s sleeve carefully, betting he wouldn’t be cruel to her because he remembered she had saved his life.
When Nathaniel didn’t shake off her hand, she knew she was right.
“Nathaniel, I feel so sleepy now. I want to take a nap. Can I go to your room?” Anastasia struck while the iron was hot, and at the same time, she didn’t forget to continue observing his expression.
Noticing him frown, she immediately added, “I don’t have any other thoughts, but I haven’t had the time to get a room…”
Nathaniel gave Alfred a look, and the latter immediately understood.
“Mr. Webster, I’ll get a room for Ms. Lambert now.” He looked at Anastasia and said to her, “Ms. Lambert, please give me your ID card.”
Although Anastasia was unwilling to give up, she didn’t dare to show her intention too obviously. She only searched in her bag for a while
and handed the ID card to Alfred.
Not long after, Alfred returned and gave the ID card back to Anastasia. Then he said to Nathaniel, “The receptionist said there would be a tourism expo in Austin besides this new media industry Convention recently. This hotel room is the best in Austin, and it is full.”
Hearing that, Nathaniel couldn’t help frowning, but Anastasia was secretly happy.
It seemed the universe was helping her, and he couldn’t just drive her away, could he?
“Nathaniel can I go in and rest first?” Anastasia asked tentatively.
Nathaniel felt helpless, but he still gave her the room card.
Anastasia took the room card happily and walked in. She turned her head and saw Nathaniel had no intention of entering, so she pursed
her lips.
“Come in and rest for a while, Nathaniel.”
“No need.” Having said that, Nathaniel walked to the public rest area and sat on the sofa.
It was because this room was facing Janet’s room, and he could see Nigel come out at the first possible moment.
At the thought of what might happen between them in the room, Nathaniel really wanted to smash the door and pull Janet out, teaching
her a lesson.
