My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 180

Chapter 180 Betrayal

Marco plugged the USB into the computer, and Janet began to explain her plans for this APP to the directors.

The general content was consistent with her bidding speech at the Convention. Janet was confident about her plan. After all, some directors of the Group had wanted to reform, but they had been stopped by Conrad.

Now that this APP was taken by the Longfellow Group, it was an opportunity!

In the process of Janet’s speech, several directors nodded repeatedly, indicating that this idea was very feasible. However, some people led by Conrad were also very tough.

All of a sudden, these two groups of people were at loggerheads.

After a debate, both sides had their own opinions. Janet knew very well that Conrad would not easily agree, and she would not let Conrad continue to push forward his shady project.

“Since no one can convince others, we will vote. The minority will obey the majority!”

Conrad looked at Janet arrogantly, as if he was confident that he would win the vote.

Janet wanted to laugh. She thought, today, I would let Conrad know that the Longfellow Group was no longer under his control!

“OK, then let’s vote.”

Janet was calm as she looked at Conrad.

This made Conrad’s originally proud attitude immediately weaken a bit. Conrad frowned and looked at Janet, trying to distinguish something from her expression.

Conrad was originally very confident about the results of the vote, but when he saw Janet agree so easily, Conrad felt a little uncertain. Conrad thought, did Janet have a backup plan?

Before Conrad could think, the vote had already begun, and it was too late for Conrad to go back on his words.

Conrad thought, more than half of the current directors of the company stood on my side. I didn’t believe that I couldn’t win against Janet!

However, when the vote began, Conrad’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Conrad didn’t expect that two directors who would stand firmly on his side would vote to support Janet!

All these years, Conrad had given them many benefits. Conrad was completely unable to understand how those two would betray him!

“You… you!” Conrad pointed at the two directors and was so angry that he could not speak. Conrad turned to glare at Janet.

“It’s you! It must be you who coerced and tempted these directors. Janet, I never thought that you would use such despicable means!”

In the face of Conrad’s accusation, Janet laughed.

“Conrad, what nonsense are you talking about? My proposal is better than your financing project. The directors will naturally support me. After all, the company’s interests are above all else, isn’t it?”

“Conrad, you are the one who said that you wanted to vote. The one who does not admit the result now is also you.” Janet’s face suddenly

became cold and she changed the way she addressed Conrad. “Mr. Doherty, the Longfellow Group belongs to everyone, not just you!”

Conrad was stunned by Janet’s aura and was speechless for a moment. Conrad looked at these directors and found out that none of them

spoke up for him, including some directors who had opposed Janet’s idea before.

Now, Conrad could be considered isolated and helpless. If Conrad was determined to fight against Janet, he would not end well.

At this point, Conrad could only admit it.

The project Conrad wanted to launch completely failed, which meant that Conrad’s plan to take over Janet’s rights failed.

Conrad found that he underestimated Janet. Conrad didn’t expect that Janet would be so tough in the business field.

However, Conrad was still unwilling to give up.

“Janet, the financing project has been negotiated for a long time. If we refuse now, the Longfellow Group will be considered as breaking the contract, and the Longfellow Group will have to pay the liquidated damages!”

Janet smiled indifferently and said. “Since you are responsible for the project, you should pay for it yourself.”
