My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 219

Chapter 219 Nathaniel Is Such A Jerk

Looking at the two of them, Janet almost thought that Nathaniel would definitely question her about why she hurt Anastasia and then convict her mercilessly as before.

Unfortunately, Janet was no longer who she used to be.

“You’re asking me? Why don’t you ask me what your weeping sweetheart has done?”

Janet’s sharp and cold gaze was like a dagger in Nathaniel’s heart.

However, before Nathaniel said anything. Anastasia burst into tears. “Nathaniel, I didn’t do anything. Ms. Longfellow rushed in and hit me. She said that what happened to her this afternoon was all because of me and that I was the one who kidnapped her. She even called ten people and threatened that she would do the same thing to me.”

Anastasia grabbed Nathaniel’s arm and sobbed.

“Nathaniel, you know me well. How could I go that far? I am also a woman. How could I do such a disgusting thing?”

Janet couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He had never seen such a stupid person.

Seeing Anastasia like this, Janet felt that she was ridiculously stupid in the past. How could she live so miserably for such a moron?

And Anastasia did not realize that he had already spilled the beans.

Janet came to find Anastasia and did not mention what happened this afternoon. The police also did not make this case public temporarily. How did Anastasia know about this?

The answer was already bursting out of her eyeballs.

Janet sneered, “I didn’t disclose what happened to me just now. How do you know what happened? And you also know there were ten men. I didn’t even count them. How can you know that so well?”

The way Nathaniel looked at Anastasia also became cold.

Anastasia panicked. She quickly covered her mouth and stared right into Nathaniel’s eyes.

She started to defend herself incoherently, “Nathaniel, I guessed it just now. After Janet came to me, she said that she encountered something terrible this afternoon. Besides, she just called len men to bully me, so I guessed it.”

She grabbed the corner of Nathaniel’s clothes, trying to make the man give her some response.

“Nathaniel, trust me. You know that I’m not that kind of person…”

Nathaniel didn’t say anything. Janet looked at Nathaniel with his arms crossed and had complicated feelings. He didn’t say anything. Did it mean that he didn’t believe her?

However, a few seconds later.

“Anastasia isn’t that kind of person,” Nathaniel said.

Anastasia’s face was filled with obvious joy.

Janet felt a slight pain in her heart, but the pain just lasted an instant. Then, she returned to normal.

What was she expecting just now?

Didn’t she already know what kind of jerk Nathaniel was?

Janet withdrew her cold gaze and looked at Anastasia, “Remember, you won’t be so lucky every time. You have to pay the price for doing something wrong. I will make you pay the same price for what you did this time. I’m a man of words!”

The woman’s tone was neither hurried nor slow, and she didn’t even get angry, but it still sent others a chill down the spine.

Anastasia shivered.

Nathaniel frowned. “Janet, you have suffered a lot this afternoon, but no woman should suffer that kind of thing. It Is a bit too much to take revenge in this way.”

Screw you!!

Absurd! Scumbag! Janet thought.

Janet really burst into laughter. After laughing for a long time, she raised her eyes to look at Nathaniel, her eyes full of coldness.

“It is rumored that Mr. Webster is the fairest and most impartial person in the world. It turns out that you aren’t all that you seem.

Double standards!”

“Janet…”

Nathaniel frowned even more deeply and didn’t understand Janet’s sudden outburst.

Janet stood up, her eyes full of mockery.

“You don’t have to be angry. After all, you are old. It’s normal that you can’t bear to hear the truth sometimes. Mr. Webster, since you’ve decided to protect your sweetheart, you’d better protect her well, because I’ll definitely make her pay!”

Nathaniel’s face darkened a little.

“You have to show evidence for what you say.”

Janet sneered, “If not for your sudden visit, I would have got the evidence.”

She looked at him, her voice resolute and decisive.

Given Anastasia’s personality, if Janet tried harder, Anastasia would probably confess without being pressed.

Unfortunately, it was Sod’s Law.

It was all Nathaniel’s fault!

Nathaniel frowned slightly as he watched Janet remain silent. The message revealed from his eyes made Anastasia feel flustered for no reason, and she hurriedly interrupted the two of them.

“Ms. Longfellow, you can’t slander me like that. You trespassed into my place with no evidence and even beat me recklessly. If Nathaniel hadn’t stopped you, you might have made a bigger mistake. You would have been detained!”

Janet was not afraid at all. Instead, she laughed.

How dared Anastasia complain first!

Janet was not worried about being detained at all. She had even figured that Anastasia would not dare to call the police at all since

Anastasia hired people to kill her!
