Chapter 234 Fulfill Your Promise
In the break room of Janet’s team, Melissa took back the results of the drawn lots and showed them to Janet
proudly.
“Look, I’m lucky. I didn’t draw Nathaniel.”
Janet glanced at her and smiled. “True.”
She propped up her chin with one hand and said lazily, “However, it doesn’t matter even if they were opponents. We can’t take a detour just because there is a bug on the road.”
Melissa and the others glanced at each other, and they all saw the same admiration in each other’s eyes.
Janet was really beautiful and domineering. They even wanted to prostrate themselves before her.
In fact, Janet wasn’t worried about going against Nathaniel’s team, but she didn’t want to see Nathaniel now.
She only wanted to spend the first day of the competition quietly.
The competition lasted for two days. The first stage was a group match. They were divided into Group A and Group B. On the first day, four people from each team were divided into two new teams to compete with other
teams in the same group.
Melissa had good luck. She had drawn a few unknown teams from some small countries. There was also another team led by Nigel. They were in Group A.
Nathaniel was in Group B with other teams.
A winning team from each group would compete for the championship.
Janet had a good understanding of Nigel’s team. The members were about the same level as Janet’s team.
The teams of the other small countries were weaker. In previous years, the teams seldom passed the group.
stages, so they were not a concern.
Thus, Janet’s team barely wasted any effort and reached the last stage.
Janet’s team fought against Nigel’s team.
During the intermission, Janet gave Melissa and the others guidance in the break room. However, she did not.

“Where is Ruby?” Janet asked with a frown.
The members were instantly alert. M

Janet’s expression changed. “Find her!”

Melissa left in a hurry, but soon she returned with Ruby, who was holding her stomach and looked pale and
weak.
Janet’s expression instantly became serious. She stepped forward and supported Ruby. “What’s wrong?”
“I, I think I got my period.” Ruby’s eyes were filled with shame. She lowered her head in embarrassment and spoke with a trembling voice, “I’m sorry, Ms. Longfellow’s my fault. I didn’t take measures in advance… It
came early.”
As Ruby spoke, she felt more and more guilty. Her eyes were red, and she almost cried out.
Melissa was worried about Ruby, and she was even more worried that Janet would get angry. She looked at Janet uneasily. “Ms. Longfellow, Ruby didn’t do it on purpose…”
Janet let out a sigh of relief.
Janet thought that Ruby had been plotted against by someone. Now she was relieved.
“It’s okay. Problems often occur in the competition. You don’t have to apologize for your period. Don’t worry. I’m your substitute.” Janet smiled lightly and comforted Ruby softly.
Ruby really cried this time. Tears fell down her face as she sobbed pitifully, “I’m sorry, Ms. Longfellow. It’s my fault… I let you down…”

Seeing this, Janet didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Alright, don’t cry. I’ll find someone to take care of you. You can stay here for a while and watch us finish today’s competition, okay?”
Compared to sending Ruby back to rest, Janet believed that Ruby would be more willing to stay here with her teammates.
Ruby was also relieved and nodded.
After making arrangements for Ruby, Janet looked at the others in the room and said, “Although I haven’t practiced much with you, I have more than enough to handle today’s competition.”
Melissa looked at Janet in surprise, “Ms. Longfellow, are you saying that you will enter the competition and fight against Nigel?”
“Of course,” Janet smiled.
In fact, she was prepared to fight with Nigel, but Janet had an ulterior motive.
This kind of competition was rare, and Janet didn’t want anyone to miss the match. Therefore, Janet was thinking that she could compete with Nigel in private in the future.
