Chapter 250 It Is Three Years
Get Bop Cle
The next second, two smartly dressed women with unfamiliar faces in white coats and masks came in. They came up to Janet carrying metal boxes.
Janet had just had an operation, and she couldn’t think straight. Just as she was about to ask why they were there, the two got down on one knee in front of her, opened the boxes they were holding, and pulled out several medical
instruments.
Now she understood. Donahue was worried about her, so he called in his
private doctors for her.
“Why were you so careless?” Donahue sat in front of Janet and looked at her with a distressed expression. He frowned and couldn’t bear to scold her.
Janet sensed his emotions and unconsciously swallowed. She knew Donahue. The only reason he was not angry now was that she was still
recovering in bed. If she could get out of bed now…
She unconsciously shivered, pursed her lips, and tried to ease the matter
with a smile. She said, “I’m fine. It’s just a minor injury. Donahue, how come
you are here so fast?”
“Or what? Come here later and collect your body?”
Donahue glanced at her coldly.
Janet had.caused a lot of trouble since she was young, so she knew her way
around showing the white feather. Though Donahue was furious now, after
all, she was injured, so he wouldn’t punish her strictly. She should beg for
mercy right now.
She made up her mind, grabbed Donahue’s sleeve, shook it, and said in a tender voice, “I mean it. I’m fine, Donahue. You know me, right? I slipped up
and got a little hurt. There’s no need to worry about me at all.”
Janet’s face was pale, and she still pretended to be tough. Seeing that, Donahue sighed helplessly, “I picked up some fine raw stones at the mine. I heard you won the first prize in the contest, so I thought I’d bring it to you to celebrate. Who knows? Before I arrived, I heard that you got yourself in
hospital.”
Janet braced herself and smiled nonchalantly, saying with a smile, “I’m more
than healthy. See? I’m fine, aren’t I?”
The two physicians did a general checkup for Janet and confirmed that she was alright except for the wounds on her body, and then they instructed
Donahue briefly and went out.
At the same time, Lily came out of the bathroom.
Seeing a bunch of strangers in the room, Lily was shocked.
Donahue’s eyes also turned cold as he looked at Lily warily.
“Ms. Longfellow…” Lily hurried over to Janet with a frightened look.
Janet hurriedly said, “Donahue, this is Lily Cole, the caregiver my friend found
for me.”
Donahue suddenly recalled the back he had seen outside and asked, “Which.
friend of yours?”
“Nigel.”
Janet told the truth.
Even if she didn’t tell him, Donahue would find out on his own. Instead of
causing a misunderstanding, she figured that it would be better to tell him
now.
Donahue nodded. He knew Nigel, a man who had feelings for Janet. It was
just that Nigel had a bad reputation.
“I’m glad that you’re fine. Anyway, it’s best to keep your distance from others
these days,” Donahue said flatly.
