Chapter 289 Mathilda Is Sad
Mathilda forced herself to believe Conrad’s words. She glared at him with hatred and shook off his hand in disgust. She adjusted the torn belt of her windbreaker and returned to her graceful appearance as a noble woman. Mathilda paid the fine, signed her name, and then left.
Conrad secretly let out a sigh of relief. In a place where Mathilda could not see, he secretly made a gesture to Georgia, indicating that she was fine. Then, he hurriedly followed Mathilda and got into her car with a cheeky look.
The next second after the car left, a slender young man wearing a black jacket came out of the police station. He smoked and stepped into the police station.
Back at the house, Conrad shamelessly wanted to follow Mathilda into the room, but Mathilda shut him out with a
“bang“.
“Don’t even think about entering my room if you don’t wash away your smell!”
Outside the room, Conrad touched his nose, which had almost been knocked down, and his eyes were filled with disdain and contempt.
Conrad strode towards the guest room, no longer hiding the fierceness on his face.
What a bitch! She’s so cocky! Conrad thought.
Today, he and Georgia had just entered the hotel room when they were caught. Fortunately, he was cautious and let Georgia come later than him. Otherwise, they would really be caught in bed. At that time, Mathilda might make a fuss.
Conrad entered the guest room and lay on the bed, exhausted. He stared at the dark roof and thought in his heart that he had to get the company as soon as possible. He had enough of living such a humble life. He didn’t want to fear the Longfellow family anymore..
As for Mathilda… If she was willing to listen to him, Conrad would still provide for her for the sake that they had been married for 20 years. But if Mathilda insisted on looking for trouble, he would drive her away.
Mathilda couldn’t sleep the whole night.
When she recalled the scene at the police station, she was angry and felt aggrieved.
When the day broke, Mathilda went to wash up with exhaustion.
Being provoked by the cold water, she suddenly realized something…
In the laundry room, the servant was tidying up the clothes she was about to wash. When she turned around, she almost bumped into Mathilda, who had suddenly barged in. She patted her chest in shock and asked, “Mrs. Doherty, why are you here? Is there anything else I need to do?”
Mathilda ignored her and grabbed the clothes that Conrad had worn last night.
Her face was sullen, and her lips were tightly pursed, looking very uneasy.
The servant looked at Mathilda, who was leaning on Conrad’s clothes and smelled them for a long time. She asked In confusion, “Mrs. Doherty, is there a problem with the clothes?”
Of course!
Mathilda looked up and stared at her viciously. “Don’t tell anyone that I just came here. Otherwise, I will make it impossible for you to work at any housekeeping company in the future. Understand?”
The servant was scared silly by Mathilda’s fierce expression. She nodded subconsciously and said, “Yes…”
Mathilda gave her one last warning look and left the laundry room.
Although the clothes had been left there for the whole night, she was very sure that there was no smell of alcohol on the clothes. In addition to the faint smell of tobacco, there was also the smell of women’s perfume.
That bastard actually lied to her!
Mathilda clenched her fists tightly, digging her nails deeply into her palms. She felt so angry that she wanted to rush to Conrad and tear him apart!
When she was angrily pacing back and forth in the bedroom, the door was suddenly pushed open.
