Chapter 325 Someone Never Came back
Donahueiel closed his eyes and suppressed the surging emotion.
It Ainsley be because Anastasia had saved his life when he was young, so he always had
a different feeling towards her…
But now Donahueiel was very convinced that his gratitude for Anastasia had vanished absolutely, neither could be touched nor be caught.
“Keep all the existing evidence. Don’t say anything. Check the private transactions
between Anastasia and Dereion, and find the real evidence.”
Alfred responded quickly, “Yes!”
After Donahueiel gave his orders with a calm expression, he got up and walked towards
the door.
Alfred followed his footsteps hurriedly, and asked carefully, “Mr. Webster, do you want
to go out? I’ll send someone to prepare the car.”
Donahueiel’s heavy footsteps landed on the ground in a slightly chaotic manner,
his voice was obscure.
and
“No.”
Janet had a dream.
Surprisingly, she dreamed about the time when she and Donahueiel were a couple.
In the dream, she was sitting at a table with dishes, waiting for Donahueiel. But when
he came back, he told her indifferently that he had eaten.
He told her not to be sentimental. He would not come back to eat with her in particular. They only nominally had a relationship, and nothing more.
In fact, she hadn’t had this dream for a long time, probably because the story of Amy brought back the previous memories.
Janet opened her eyes. There was no light in the room, and it was extremely dark, with only a few stars shining through the half–covered gauze curtain.
She didn’t know how long Amy had gone. She covered her with a blanket before she left.
Janet sat up, and then took off the blanket, put on her shoes and prepared to go out.
“Boom.”
There was a gentle knock on the door.
“Miss.”
Janet cleared her throat, “Yes?”
Lawrence’s old voice was full of joy, “Mister Marvin has arrived.”
The housekeeper, Lawrence, was over sixty years old and had worked in the Longfellow
family for decades. He already regarded Janet and the three cousins who often lived here
as his own children.
Of course, he was very happy when Marvin who was often away came back.
Janet glanced at the time. It was not too late. “I’ll go down right away.”
Lawrence said as he was going to the kitchen, “Mister Marvin, you and Miss wait a moment. I’ll make it for you, and I’ll serve it with other dishes in a while. It’s quite
Janet laughed at him, “You rub it in. You really know how to talk.”
With that she walked towards the restaurant. Marvin followed closely behind, and
calmly responded to the latter part of the compliment, “I took care of you during your childhood. If I don’t know the skill of speaking, how can I teach you, right?”
“Well… why are you coming back?”
They sat at the dining table, and the servants served tea before dinner.
Marvin drank the tea and ate snacks comfortably, looking around with nostalgia, and pretending not to hear. “I heard that you cleaned up here and drove out all the uninvited
guests.”
Janet poured tea for herself, “Yes, it’s been redecorated. It’s too dirty to live in.”
“Don’t change the subject. You haven’t said what’s going on.”
Lawrence was standing in front of the stage preparing braised pork, watching Janet and Marvin sitting together, eating and chatting. For a moment, it seemed that they had
returned to their youth.
The Smedleys were busy, and they always entrusted their children. In Longfellow’s villa, four or five children lived together, and Janet was the youngest one, which was called a real group favorite in today’s word.
At that time, they often got into trouble together, climbing over the walls to go out to play, hiding in the room to watch horror movies together. As a result, someone who screamed scared the other children, and they all screamed together. In the middle of the night, the whole Longfellow’s villa was disturbed.
When being punished, they stood in front of Janet, and asked to replace her to be punished, though the master and his wife had never thought of physically punishing
Janet…
Now that they all had grown up, the house was much deserted. They came and left, but some of them never came back.
Lawrence raised his hand to wipe the wet corners of his eyes, and let out a long breath
