Chapter 419 Have Met Three Years Ago
Ever since the three–way contract was finalized, she had a rare moment of leisure.
Nigel didn’t want to disappoint Janet and had been busy with cooperation matters. The
two of them hardly communicate with each other except for emails.
Janet briefly skimmed through it, attached her electronic signature to it, and forwarded it in duplicate to Nigel and Donahueiel respectively.
After Donahueiel’s health was confirmed to be fine, he ended his medical leave and returned to the company.
Once the cooperation with the Longfellow Group and the Wheeler family was made public, it helped to resolve the crisis of the Webster Group.
The Webster Group’s foundation could not be easily shaken. A new partner soon came
to the door.
Donahueiel had been busy these days examining new contracts and dealing with Nigel’s ill–intentioned movers from time to time, so he had no time to rest.
There was a knock at the door.
Donahueiel’s eyes were focused on the documents. He said in a deep voice, “Come in.”
Alfred walked in.
“Mr. Webster, I just got an order from Old Mr. Webster for you to call him back.”
Donahueiel clicked on his phone screen, and there were nearly twenty missed calls from
Old Mr. Webster.
He pinched his brow and called back.
As soon as he got through, Old Mr. Webster’s loud growl almost pierced his eardrums.
“I’ve been calling all over the world and I can’t find you. If that stupid phone of yours is dumb, smash it!”
Donahueiel frowned and held the phone further away. When Old Mr. Webster finally finished cursing, he leaned in close to the receiver.
“Sorry, Grandpa, I’m at work and my phone is on silent. Is there something you need to
talk to me about?”
Old Mr. Webster grunted, his dissatisfaction revealed, “I can’t call you if there’s nothing?”
“You are getting condescending. You haven’t returned home once in half a month, and you want me, an old man, to greet you?”
Donahueiel put down the work in his hand and patiently comforted Old Mr. Webster, “I
was busy and forgot. I’ll go back and play chess with you someday.”
“Who wants to play chess with you, who can’t play chess? It’s better to chat with
good Jill.”
Old Mr. Webster finally got to the point and asked with a stern face, “Have you made any
progress lately?”
“The last time you left, you promised me you had a solution, but what about your results? Does Jill say yes?”
Donahueiel was a little discouraged when he heard about this topic. Pleasing Janet was
arguably the biggest problem he had ever encountered in his life.
“Soon.”
Donahueiel vaguely said.
Old Mr. Webster did not believe it at all, “Don’t pretend. You’re not making any progress at
all!”
Donahueiel had waited almost four years to pursue Janet, so wouldn’t it take him a
lifetime to get Janet back?
Old Mr. Webster was very disappointed with Donahueiel’s speed, “I’m just calling to confirm. If you and Jill can’t be a couple, I’ll recognize her as my granddaughter.”
“I’m much more like Jill than you are anyway.” Old Mr. Webster stroked his white beard proudly.
Donahueiel’s temples popped. He, a brilliant genius, was depressed at being outclassed by his grandfather.
Get Boy
“I’ve been so busy these days with Janet’s company. Nigel’s a bit of a capability, and he’s
bothering me, so I can’t think about anything else.”
Donahueiel didn’t tell Old Mr. Webster about the oddity of their marriage back then.
When he found out, he would tell Grandpa all together, so Grandpa wouldn’t have to
worry about it.
Hearing that Donahueiel wasted his time on Nigel, Old Mr. Webster gasped and
lamented.
“What are you doing? Don’t fight with Nigel. Defeat one Nigel, there will be countless
others like him. Can you deal with them?”
“The most important thing is to keep your mind on Jill. Do I need to tell you what’s more
important?”
Donahueiel certainly understood.
He used to think that Janet had a past that he didn’t know about, and that was why she
possessed so many extraordinary skills.
But this time he found that Janet was not only strong but also smart.
He and Nigel had been going toe to toe in recent days, but neither wanted to admit that
he was less skilled than the other. They were like two bulls facing each other. Janet had
unfolded the red cloth, and the fight was not likely to stop easily.
Janet’s contract easily put him and Nigel at odds with each other, and she was happy to
be free.
