Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 45 – He Was Curious
He didn’t even look at her until she said, “Please.”
“Not everything is about you. You can’t get anything you want.”
Janet’s heart was painful, but she looked calm.
She was stubborn. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have ignored people’s persuasion and married him.
It was impossible to make her give up in a few words!
She looked at him, “It was supposed to be auctioned. Let’s bid here. Who bids higher, who has it.”
He seemed interested. He gave the porcelain back to Lennon and looked around. People surrounded them.
“Who wants to bid with me?”
They shrank their necks and avoided his gaze.
“How could we bid with Mr. Webster?”
“I don’t like China anyway. I’m leaving.”
“I can’t take away your favorite. Can I?”
People left. Janet asked Lennon, “Can I join the auction?”
Lennon was in a dilemma.
He didn’t want to offend either of them.
Why did they involve him in this?
“Mr. Webster has already transferred the money to my account, and we signed the contract. Strictly to say, it has nothing to do
with me.”
He gave it back to Nathaniel.
He was relieved.
“Please don’t stay here. The auction is over.”
The crowds dispersed.
They didn’t want to involve in the fight.
Everyone left. Lennon was staying and watching the play.
He was curious about what Nathaniel would do.
Janet was staring at the porcelain.
If it weren’t for the memories with her father, she wouldn’t have wanted to beg him.
