Chapter 16
Tom flipped through the documents, looking increasingly shocked the more he read.
“You… How did you know about this?” He thought he had hidden it well.
“Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.”
Suddenly, Lucy lost her composure, yelling as she lunged at Linda, “Linda, you bitch! Why didn’t you die
back then?”
Samson blocked her and said, “Mrs. Felix, please mind your manners in public.”
“Mr. Felix, if I don’t receive a reasonable explanation from you by tomorrow morning. I’ll see you in court,”
Linda stated.
She figured she had gathered enough news material and didn’t want to waste any more time. She was exhausted from the long flight.
Linda took Chloe’s hand and prepared to leave, but some of the media not invited by them swarmed
forward.
“Ms. Felix, why did you suddenly disappear for four years?”
“Now that you’ve returned, is there a possibility of you and Mr. Wilson getting back together?”
“Where have you been in the last few years, Ms. Felix? Why was there no news of you?”
“Ms. Felix, are you aware of Mr. Wilson and Ida Clinton’s upcoming engagement?”
Linda stopped in her tracks and looked straight into the cameras. “With regards to my departure back
then, I have no comment.
“The only thing I can say is that there is no possibility between me and Mr. Wilson. As for the engagement, I have heard about it, and I wish Mr. Wilson and Ms. Clinton a happy life together.”
Just as she said that, the door to the hall was pushed open.
William appeared in everyone’s view. He strode forward and tightly embraced Linda.
Caught off guard, Linda crashed into his chest. Her senses were instantly assaulted by his scent.
For her, this was the embrace she had longed deeply for in the past. Now, it only felt unfamiliar and
repulsive.
Wilson could no longer stir any emotions in her heart. Everything from the past was like scattered clouds.
blown by the wind.
“Mr. Wilson, please show some respect!” Linda tried to break free from his embrace, but the disparity in strength between them was too great.
Hearing her cold and distant words and seeing her eyes which were devoid of warmth, William felt at
wave of panic.
