Naturally, some doubted Linda’s work. 

“Enough of these paid reviews. How are you so sure what she captured aligns with her motive? Indeed, we should commend acts of promoting our Cheshire culture, but I draw the line at careless work like this. How do these scenes compare to The Calligrapher’s Trio? This is so cringe.” 

“I’m being honest–some of you are truly eye–opening. I never knew paid reviews were a thing until now. Where did you guys get this gig? Can I join too?” 

“Promoting Cheshire culture is indeed a great starting point, but it’s crucial for a director to first do your research before claiming your work is based on it. Instead, we get this jumble of shots put together with an obvious lack of clarity in the storytelling.

“It’s honestly so disappointing, more so when she’s being smug after delivering such awful work. Does she seriously think she did a good job just because people were saying so? It’s time she faces the real world.” 

“My first impression of the movie after watching it was pure chaos and disorganization. How can this be called a cultural treasure? Hey, Linda, I suggest you continue your academics and quit the film industry. We hate this crap.” 

The hate comments continued. 

Faced with these comments, Linda paid no heed to them. Haters would always hate whenever someone gained fame, while some were simply more audacious and malicious than others. 

During a live interview event with other up–and–coming directors, a young director, Victor Olsen, openly gave Linda a hard time. “Ms. Felix, I heard you’re back working on micro movies.” He looked at Linda. 

Linda vaguely remembered Victor, who was a total nuisance. They had a brief encounter at the International Film Awards, and it was a meeting that made her realize she never wanted to engage with him again. 

Had the organizer informed her in advance regarding Victor’s presence, she wouldn’t have attended this event. It was truly unbearable to breathe the same air as him. “You’re right. A micro movie, as well as my new movie, are also in the works.” Since this was a live broadcast with many viewers, Linda couldn’t be outwardly rude to him. Victor looked into the camera. “Care to share how you feel about your latest project, Ms. Felix?” 

Linda answered with utmost politeness, “I believe it’s inevitable and appropriate for people to comment on a micro movie accessible online. As a director, what I think of it matters less than what the audience thinks. 

“Whether they’re film critics or casual viewers, I believe their suggestions are equally valuable and worth considering for improvement.” 

She had always been able to take constructive criticisms but not malicious comments.
