“Do you need me to help you get in touch with her, or will you handle it yourself?” Lina asked, respecting Linda’s wishes. 

Linda smiled. “I believe she’ll request to see me after the verdict is announced, rather than me seeking her out.” 

Everyone had a sense of what Ida was like. Due to her upbringing, she was extremely self–assured and always presented unconventional perspectives and approaches to things. Linda felt pity for Ida later. Despite enjoying a privileged lifestyle, her overall environment had been stifling, and she lacked self–confidence. She often tried to uplift herself by belittling others. 

Joanne wasn’t a good person, taking in Ida to benefit from her. Essentially, Joanne wanted an obedient daughter–in–law who would eventually benefit her own company. Joanne had known for a long time that Linda was the one who saved William. She took advantage of William’s memory loss to credit all the merits to Ida, making William believe that Ida was the person he had promised to save when he was young. 

Joanne was very clear–headed. She introduced Ida to William before he was fully capable, ensuring that even if William learned the truth later, he would still have feelings for Ida. Those feelings, built over time, would not be easily erased, no matter how cold–blooded one might be. 

In a less flattering sense, Joanne forcibly inserted Ida into William’s life, making her a part of his routine. 

However, William was indeed quite naive. He didn’t understand Joanne’s nature at all back then. Now, William had seen through the situation, but unfortunately, Linda no longer needed any of that.

Linda was right. After the verdict, Ida requested to see her. 

“Ms. Felix, the prison guard has notified us that Ida wants to see you. What are your thoughts?” Wendy asked. 

“Postpone my work and reschedule it. I’ll go see her as a final gesture,” Linda replied. 

Wendy nodded. “There are two meetings at the Felix Group this afternoon. I can handle those.” 

Linda glanced at the cultural tourism cooperation proposal on her desk. “Has the script been completed?” 

“Not yet. The screenwriting team is working overtime because some details didn’t meet the requirements, and the cultural tourism bureau has requested a complete rewrite.” 

Some of the folk elements needed deeper understanding to be effectively captured in writing. The company’s screenwriting team wasn’t specialized in this area, so they struggled
