Kage had gone to all the places he felt she could be-like the bridge, her favourite bar. When he didn’t find her, he asked the people around if she’s been there, but none of them gave him what he wanted.
He was getting into his car when his phone rang, the caller turning out to be Lancelot. On impulse, he thought of ignoring it, but Lancelot never called him for fun. And seeing that Sylvie was missing, he didn’t want to leave any information ignored.
his ear.
“Yes?” His voice was hard as he placed the phone over hi
“Hello, Kage. Would you happen to be home? I know it’s late, but I’ll very much love to speak with Sylvie.” Lancelot spoke in a voice that was less amusing than usual.
Kage froze, his brows furrowing. “Why the hell would you-”
“Yeah, I know it’s strange that I’d be calling to speak with her, but the thing is, Sylvie and I have some unfinished business. I’ve been trying to reach her on phone, but her phone seems to be dead. Unfortunately, this business can’t wait which is why I decided to call you instead. If you can, I’ll need you to give her the phone.”
Kage already had enough problems to worry about, but what unfinished business could Lancelot and Sylvie have?
He wanted to ask but waved it aside. Finding Sylvie was more important at the moment.
“She’s missing, so we’ve been looking for her.” He grumped and hung up, cutting Lancelot who was about saying something else.
Lancelot found it hard to believe in his hotel room. Sylvie didn’t just turn off her phone, but she went missing!? She ran out of home?
Typical her.
He poured himself a glass of wine, trying to calm his thoughts but it wasn’t working.
“Damn it!” He cursed as he thrashed the glass against the wall.
He needed her. How dare she run away from him? How dare she make a fool of him!?
Sylvie laid on the floor of the hotel room, crying her eyes out.
The clock was reading eleven p.m already. She forced herself not to think of what was possibly happening out there. She didn’t want to think of Kage and how worried he must be.
She should go home. She shouldn’t be doing this to him. But then, Lancelot would be on her neck. Who knows? He might have told Kage the truth already.
She was a coward who fled from her battles. But Sylvie was already tired of everything. She couldn’t let Lancelot touch her like he wanted, but she feared he’d make good of his threat and expose her to Kage.
Oh, Kage! The thought of losing him brought fresh pain to her chest. She couldn’t do life without him anymore. Yet, here she was-keeping him worried out there.

For two days, her phone remained switched off. She kept herself away from the world-as well as it’s problems-out there and existed all by herself. It had been a torment for her, but despite how much she tried, she couldn’t stop herself from worrying over what could be happening out there.

Was Kage fine? Was he looking for her? Since she’s been missing for two days, how worried would he be? Had Lancelot told him the truth already? Who else was looking for her?
The questions filled her head, causing her head to constantly ache.
On the third day, however, when someone knocked on her door in the morning, she assumed it was room service as usual and opened up. But to her shock, she found an unfamiliar face, with Kage standing beside him.
Her lungs froze. Her hand holding the door dropped to her side, and an unhealthy amount of electricity sizzled through her.
Oh, God.
In that moment, it appeared to be a dream. How could Kage be in front of her? How had he find her?
But it only proved one thing-for the past two days, he’s been looking for her non-stop.
“Hello, Sylvie,” The unfamiliar face beside Kage spoke. “I’m Mr. Nicolas, the manager of the hotel. I want to personally apologize for going against our privacy rules, but Mr. Hawkins here was bent on finding you. I had to tell him you were here
It made sense. Sylvie took a hard swallow, dropping her gaze to the floor.
The Manager coughed. “I’ll um… be in my office.” He walked away.
Looking back at Kage again, Sylvie realized something disturbing. He’s been strangely cold. Not just cold, but angry. Hurt. His eyes were rimmed with red, and that wasn’t a sight that meant well. Had he been that affected by her absence? She wouldn’t be surprised if he was mad at her. But then…
“I’m sorry,” there was a crack in her voice.
It also bothered her that he hadn’t

She stopped mid-sentence when an audio started playing, the voice sounding familiar. She lifted her gaze to discover it was playing on Kage’s phone which he held in his hand. It took her an extra second to realize it was her voice! And the the same recording Lancelot had threatened her with.
