Noelle smirked. "I was just making a guess. Why are you so nervous?"
Xenia stood beside Donovan with an aggrieved look. "Donovan, I know I'm not welcome in this family, especially since Noelle ran away because of me. The others have even more reason to dislike me.
"But I won't let anyone accuse my father. He died saving Uncle and Auntie."
She knew Donovan would feel guilty toward her if she emphasized this. Sure enough, Donovan reassured her, "Xenia, don't worry. No one will mistreat you as long as I'm here."
"I know, Donovan. But I'm just worried that Noelle won't be able to adjust after coming home. After all, she fought so badly with our brothers and almost sent them to jail."
Xenia deliberately brought this up, knowing it was a sore spot for them.
Frank cut her off. "The past is the past. We're family. There's no grudge that lasts overnight.
"But you, on the other hand, should stop bringing up unpleasant things. It makes it seem like you're trying to drive a wedge between us."
Xenia immediately put on a pitiful look. "Frank, I didn't mean it like that."
"Good. By the way, you should pack up and move out of the room in the Cloudscape Villa since Noelle is coming back to the Liddell family. That's her room." Frank scoffed.
Xenia's heart dropped at this. She hesitated before glancing at Donovan. "Donovan, didn't you say that room was mine? I never had a room of my own growing up. You promised it would be mine."
Donovan cleared his throat. "There are plenty of rooms in the villa. Noelle can just pick another one."
Noelle smirked. "Our parents bought that villa, right? And they did say the biggest room with the best view was mine."
She wasn't going to let go of what rightfully belonged to her.
Noelle turned to Xenia. "Even if you get to choose a room, it should be one that didn't already belong to someone else. My room is mine. No one but our parents has the right to change that."
