Noelle sighed. "You probably already know that Donovan is using my parents' inheritance to threaten me. Since there was no will for the inheritance distribution, I can't retrieve those items for now, and I don't want them to fall into Xenia's hands."
"Mr. Rodrick told me about this. Lawsuits take time, but you don't have to return to the Liddell family because of it." Cedric held her hand. "And you don't need to be afraid of the Cantrell family. What happened last time was only because I wasn't there."
"It wouldn't have changed much even if you had been. The Cantrell family holds immense power in the media industry. Ordinary people can't win against them."
Cedric paused. "Noelle, you don't have to be so cautious all the time."
"We're in Yasnia. Sometimes, you have no choice but to comply." Noelle looked at him seriously. "But my decision to return to the Liddell family isn't just about reclaiming my parents' inheritance. There's another important reason."
Cedric was confused. "What is it?"
She took a deep breath. "I discovered that there's more to the car accident back then."
Cedric's heart dropped. It took him a while to find his voice again. "What did you find?"
Did she discover his involvement? Cedric felt like a prisoner awaiting judgment.
Noelle hummed. "I found out that Xenia's father is still alive."
Cedric was in disbelief. "Wasn't her father your parents' driver? He supposedly died in the explosion."
He had been at the scene back then and saw the driver return to the car right before it exploded. Survival was impossible under those circumstances.
Noelle nodded. "I used to believe that, too. But I had TG Public Relations track Xenia, and they captured photos of her meeting with a middle-aged man."
Cedric was skeptical. "Are you certain that man is Xenia's father?"
"I'm sure. There's no mistake." At first, Noelle had doubted herself. But after recalling the past, she confirmed it was Xenia's father.
