Noelle sat in the outer living hall and had Gordon bring her some tea. She picked up the cup to sniff and immediately put it back down. "Brew it again," she said.
Gordon was angry, but he did not dare to speak up. He brought the tea back and brewed another cup for her.
When Noelle reached for the cup, she found that it was too hot and directly splashed it onto Gordon. "Are you trying to scald me?"
Gordon's gaze turned cold as he quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, Ms. Noelle. I didn't mean to."
Noelle sneered in response. She had done what she did on purpose.
Xenia walked over after witnessing the scene. "Noelle, Gordon's already quite old. You should just have the other housekeepers serve your tea."
"He's also a housekeeper, is he not? If you feel so sorry for him, why don't you go and brew the tea in his stead?" Noelle asked.
"Noelle, you're just making things difficult for him," Xenia was not going to do it herself.
Noelle sneered and replied, "That's right. I don't like him, so I'm doing all of this on purpose. Got a problem with that? Not that you can say anything about it."
She would no longer tolerate anything or anyone in the Liddell family that made her uncomfortable.
Xenia turned to look at Donovan, only to find that he just pretended not to see a thing. It made her even angrier, as she felt that Donovan should be on her side.
Blake sneered at Xenia and said, "If you want to play pretend as a saint, then go ahead and do Gordon's job, too, instead of just standing around."
Xenia finally shut her mouth for good.
Noelle then spoke up. "Isn't the foundation organizing a charity sales event? How's the preparation for it going?"
Xenia reluctantly answered, "It's on this weekend."
"Give me a copy of the event planning. I need to see what needs fixing."
"The event is already happening this weekend! How is there any time left for changes?"
Noelle smirked and replied, "I'm the boss, you know? I decide everything. If you don't want to be in charge, you can quit right away."
Xenia immediately turned to look at Donovan for help.
