Noelle felt a chill running through her entire body after hearing Laura's reply. She realized that only one thing could have happened when Cedric and Laura—a man and a woman—were alone together last night. She had never imagined that such an absurd situation would happen in her life.
Laura's eyes flickered with a hint of delight when she noticed Noelle's pale expression.
She continued, "Ms. Liddell, I've always wanted to tell you about this. I just never had the chance."
Noelle replied, "Cut the crap. How would you never have the chance to tell me this? Tell me, what exactly is your relationship with Cedric?"
"Ms. Liddell, I actually wanted to tell you about it last night. Do you remember when I asked you if you knew who your boyfriend really was?" Laura asked.
Noelle recalled that she was indeed asked about such a question. But she did not think much about it at the time.
She had never doubted Cedric, after all. She also recalled the question Cedric had asked her back in the private room last night, which was also about the concealment of one's identity.
She realized that the 'friend' that Cedric mentioned was not Alfred but himself. Her heart sank further and further as her palms grew cold.
Noelle looked at Laura and asked, "What is Cedric's true identity?"
"It's an easy guess, really. His surname is the same as Magnus," Laura replied.
Noelle's mind went blank for a moment before coming to an unbelievable realization. Her lips were pale as she asked, "Cedric is Magnus' older brother?"
"That's right. Cedric is the heir of the Greene family," Laura replied.
Noelle had no idea how she had left the cafe. All she knew was that she could not stay there any longer. She felt as if she could no longer breathe the moment she found out about Cedric's identity.
She never expected that Cedric was actually the heir of the Greene family. Noelle held onto her head as she realized that it only made perfect sense.
It made sense how Cedric and Alfred were close friends, how Cedric could visit L Bistro whenever he wanted to, how he had showed up so quickly during the negotiation about the AI project with the Greene family, and how whenever they went on dates, there were hardly any other people around them.
