Grace explained, "These were delivered by a courier, most likely from your boyfriend."

Cedric had once sent gifts to Noelle in a similar fashion.

Noelle walked over and saw several luxury brands amongst the bags. One of them even contained a pair of limited-edition boxing gloves.

Had it been in the past, she would have been thrilled to receive such gifts. But now, she pushed the bags aside without even taking out any of the contents. She reckoned that they would all be returned a few days later.

Noelle freshened up and laid down on her bed. When she saw that there was an unread message on her phone, her heart started beating a little faster as she wondered who the message was from.

She calmed herself down as she reached for her phone. She saw that it was indeed a message from Cedric. "Are you still awake?"

Noelle stared at the screen for a long time, but in the end, she decided not to send him a reply.

She was traumatized from being betrayed by her own family in her past life. She never expected that the man she trusted wholeheartedly now was actually also deceiving her all along and wondered who else was there that she could trust.

The next morning, the first thing Noelle did after waking up was check her phone. She did not reply to Cedric's message last night, and he had also stopped sending any more messages to her.

Just then, a news notification popped up on her screen. "Heir of the Greene family will soon tie the knot! The wedding date will be announced soon!"

She felt suffocated when she saw the headline, her eyes dry with unshed tears. Noelle wondered why Cedric still came looking for her when he was already engaged and if he planned to keep the truth from her and let her remain as a mere mistress forever.

"Noelle, why are you crying?" Grace grabbed a piece of tissue and handed it to Noelle.

Noelle wiped her tears and explained, "What if I say that I've been made to be the mistress?"

"What?! You mean that he already has a girlfriend?" Grace asked.

Noelle forced herself to smile. "A fiance, to be precise. They're getting married soon."

"This is ridiculous! You should expose him!" Grace replied.

Noelle turned off her phone and replied, "He's not just any ordinary person. It won't make much of a difference, even if I exposed him. People will just call me a gold-digger."

"You can't let him off that easily, Noelle. If he made you the mistress, then you should turn the tables on him as well."
