Chapter 461 Grown Big
These two are my nemesis!
Isla glared at Lenora and Sophia with a loathing gaze while making up her mind. “I must teach them a lesson today to vent the frustration in my heart!”
Alice cautioned, “Isla, I don't think that's a good idea. We're in Clusia...”
“What's there to fear? We have my uncle to back us up,” Isla said, unbothered. “Follow me.”
As Lenora and Sophia chatted, they entered a boutique filled with stylish and trendy clothes. Lenora picked out an off-the-shoulder long dress and stepped into the changing room.
Sophia, standing outside, said in surprise, “Wait... So the woman with Tyrant outside the ladies' restroom that day was actually Isla?”
When Lenora was in Fairlake, she often video-chatted with Sophia, keeping her updated about her life in Fairlake.
Sophia found out from Lenora that the latter had once again encountered that self-righteous fool from the airplane, who was none other than the heiress of a prestigious family in Fairlake.
“Yeah, it's her,” Lenora said while changing.
“She came to Jacaster?”
“Do you remember that big shot we encountered at the police station before? That was her uncle.”
“D*mn! I'm so jealous!”
“Soph, could you come in and help me with my zipper? It's stuck...”
Sophia quickly parted the curtains just enough to slip through, then drew them closed behind her. She looked at Lenora, who had changed into the dress, her eyes momentarily lingering on Lenora's chest. With a hint of surprise, she swallowed before speaking. “Lenora... why do I feel like they've gotten bigger?”
Lenora fell silent, turning away as her cheeks flushed red. “Cut it out!”
“I'm serious. Can you share some tips on how they got so big?” Sophia asked, her tone playful as she zipped up the dress for Lenora, a sly grin tugging at her lips.
“I don't know,” Lenora replied, her face red with embarrassment.
How should I know? To be honest, I've noticed they seem to have grown a bit lately, but I swear I didn't do anything!
“May I feel the texture?”
“No way!”
After getting dressed, Lenora stepped outside and walked over to a large mirror to examine herself. The salesperson, eager to make a sale, was enthusiastically promoting their products, and Lenora ended up buying the dress.
The two women continued to explore the mall, losing track of time. Suddenly, Sophia checked her phone. “Wow, it's already past eleven! What do you feel like for lunch?” she asked.
“How about we head to Goldthorn Mall? We could spend the afternoon there and maybe catch a movie,” Lenora suggested since they had pretty much seen everything here.
“All right.”
Carrying their purchases, the two of them made their way to the elevator, heading down to the underground parking garage. Suddenly, the deep hum of a car engine roared behind them. Lenora's heart leapt into her throat as she whipped around. Without thinking, she lunged toward Sophia, pushing her out of the way.
The force sent them both off balance, crashing to the ground and rolling to the side just as the car sped past. It turned sharply at the fork ahead and vanished into the distance.
Sophia was still shaken as she pushed herself up from the ground. “D*mn it! What the h*ll was that? Is someone trying to kill us?”
Lenora took a breath to steady herself, getting to her feet and brushing herself off. “No, they're just trying to mess with us. I saw who was behind the wheel—the driver was Isla.”
As she turned around, she caught a glimpse of Isla's face through the windshield. It was twisted with malice, her features contorted in a sinister sneer.
“D*mn it!” Sophia cursed under her breath, grimacing as she struggled to push herself off the ground, rubbing her sore backside. “Do they really think I'm a pushover?”
After saying that, she remembered who was Isla's uncle and deflated. Fine! I might just be a pushover if compared to him!
Sophia, sticking out her finger, pushed gently against the glass.
Whoosh!
In an instant, a shower of glass shards exploded outward, cascading down around them. Isla instinctively raised her arms to shield her face. The dashboard was completely coated in glass, and pieces littered the floor at their feet. Both Isla and Alice were left covered in the sharp fragments.
Isla slowly opened her eyes, the view now unobstructed by the shattered windshield. She could clearly see Lenora and Sophia standing casually on either side of the car, their demeanor completely unbothered.
“You—” Isla's face flushed with a deep, seething rage. Her features twisted in fury as she fixed them with a burning glare, her teeth clenched tight, wishing she could lunge at them and rip them apart on the spot.
“What's wrong with us?” Lenora tilted her head with a sly smile. With a sharp swing, she brought the safety hammer down hard, smashing the headlight to pieces. The surrounding metal crumpled inward.
“Ms. Isla,” Lenora continued, her voice calm yet cutting, “just a friendly reminder—you're in Jacaster now, not Fairlake. You can't just throw your weight around and expect everyone to bow.”
In Fairlake, the Wilson family's influence loomed large, leaving Lenora with no choice but to keep her head down and avoid confrontation.
Isla's brazen behavior in Jacaster stemmed from her reliance on her uncle, Matthew, to back her up. While Matthew wasn't one to recklessly indulge her antics, he also wouldn't allow her to face imprisonment. As such, involving the police would be pointless. Left with no choice, Lenora, much like Isla, was forced to take matters into her own hands and seek personal retribution.
As long as she didn't go so far as to break Isla's legs, making it hard for Matthew to explain to his sister, Matthew would most probably turn a blind eye.
“I'll kill you!” Isla screamed, her voice trembling with rage as her eyes burned with fury. Slamming the car door open, she stormed toward Lenora with unrestrained aggression.
Never in her life had anyone dared to humiliate her like this.
Alice frowned, irritation filling her gaze.
What a fool! They only smashed the car because we were inside and they had no other way to reach us! She's practically handing herself over to them on a silver platter by getting out of the car!
“Ah!” Isla's shriek of pain rang out.
