Chapter 21
“Happy birthday, Mr. Logan!”
Felicia brought out the cake she had made herself and lit the candles. “Make a wish?”
“Make a wish? Then I hope…”
Seeing that Gideon was about to say it out loud, Felicia hurriedly covered his mouth. “Shh! If you say your wish, it won’t come true.”
Gideon felt the softness covering his lips, the sweet scent slowly drifting into his nose. He thought he hadn’t drunk much, yet he was already so intoxicated.
He was terribly drunk.
Gideon closed his eyes and slowly made a wish in his heart.
Felicia could fall in love with Gideon, love him forever, and never leave him.
He opened his eyes again.
There was a burning heat in his gaze.
Perhaps he really was drunk; even his steps were unsteady as he went upstairs after eating the
cake.
Felicia watched Gideon stagger and hurried over to support him. “Why did you drink so much? Let me help you upstairs.”
Fortunately, there was an indoor elevator, and Gideon was obedient enough. Felicia didn’t have to exert much effort to get him into the bedroom.
Seeing Gideon lying on his back on the bed with his eyes closed and motionless, Felicia sighed and took off his jacket.
Gideon, still groggy, opened his eyes and saw Felicia undressing him. A rush of blood surged through him.
Was Felicia seducing him?
Gideon reached out and pulled her into his arms. With a slight turn, he pressed her beneath him.
He kissed those long–desired red lips.

Felicia hadn’t expected things to turn out like this so suddenly. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “No! Mr. Logan… Please! Gideon!”
She struggled fiercely, but the difference in strength between men and women was immediately apparent. Her resistance was easily pinned above her head, and the man’s drunken voice called her name obsessively: “Feli, Feli…”
Feeling the wet kisses moving from her cheek down to her neck and still lower, Felicia felt a sense of despair. She twisted to resist the kisses, shouting Gideon’s name loudly, hoping to bring back a trace of his reason.
But clearly, it had no effect.
The man’s eyes grew even redder. “Be good, Feli, don’t move. I want you…”
Feeling the hardness against her, Felicia suddenly froze, not daring to move anymore.
In fact, over the past two years, Gideon’s feelings for her had been almost obvious.
Anyone with eyes could see it, yet she kept pretending not to notice.
It wasn’t that Gideon was a bad person, but it seemed that ever since Joshua five years ago, she had closed her heart, unwilling to get involved with men, relationships, or marriage.
So, in a way, Felicia was quite willing to continue this fake marriage arrangement.
If possible.
But it was obvious that Gideon wanted something different.
He opened his hazy eyes, but looked at Felicia with clarity.
“Feli, you must know, I like you.”
“Accept me, will you?”
He endured it, his body aching with restraint, but he still wanted her consent.
Seeing Gideon regain a bit of reason, Felicia tried to move slightly toward the edge of the bed, but was once again firmly pinned down by him.
“Mr. Logan…”
“Mr. Logan, haha… You still refuse to accept me… Is it because of Joshua?”
The name she hadn’t thought of for years was suddenly mentioned, and Felicia froze.

But in Gideon’s eyes, her reaction seemed like another kind of tacit admission.

“So it really is because of him… Ha, do you know, he’s already married, his child is five years old. The year you went abroad, he cheated and even had a child. Are you still holding on to some delusion?”
What did Joshua have to do with anything?
Whether Joshua got married or had children, what did that have to do with her? What delusion was she holding on to?
Did he think she rejected him because of Joshua?
No.
She had never told him about her past.
Felicia’s expression changed slightly. “You investigated me!”
