Chapter 851
Chapter 851
Third Person’s POV
Stanley hadn’t expected Hespere to be so blunt, piercing right through to his actual thoughts For a moment, he froze, completely unsure of how to answer.
Still, Stanley firmly believed that doing nothing meant making no mistakes. The Independent Center simply wasn’t worth his precious daughter, Lycan Luna Camilla, taking any risks
Hespere knew her mate well enough to realize that his silence meant he wasn t convinced so she didn’t push the issue.
A few days later, she took her most trusted omega maid and headed to the palace to meet with Camilla.
Camilla Wall paused after listening to her mother’s pitch about the Center.
She shook her head gently, frowning.
“Mom, think about it. How could I possibly back Adelaide? Lycan Erasmus was against her idea from day one. As his Luna, I obviously can’t support it either.”
Hespere was taken aback.
“Oh Moon Goddess… Camilla, are you absolutely sure you don’t support such an incredible philanthropic initiative?”
Camilla offered a faint smile.
“Mom, what makes you think I should?”
Hespere answered without skipping a beat.
“Why wouldn’t you? The establishment of this Center benchts she wolves You are a she w yourself.”
Camilla burst out laughing, but the sound was unusually grating
“Honestly, the Independent Center is nothing but a shelter What’s the point of harboring a loser like Wanda? She deserves to die. Mom, maybe you’re just getting old and your bieeding heart is working overtime. How could you possibly sympathize with a bitch like Wanda”
Camilla’s words crawled up Hespere’s spine like a draft off a glacier.

Her wolf shrank back in the depths of her consciousness, overwhelmed by a profound sense
sorrow.
When she spoke again, her voice was so soft she sounded like she was talking to herself.
“But there are so many abandoned she–wolves who are completely innocent. They aren’t like Wanda.”
Camilla sat up straight, her expression turning dead serious as her cold eyes stared off into th distance.
“That’s bullshit. Any she–wolf who gets dumped or rejected definitely screwed up somehow. Otherwise, why would they end up homeless? Wolves like that are a stain on our nation just t breathing. The state should exile them to the border wastelands to live as rogues.”
Hespere looked at her daughter like she was looking at a total stranger.
She remembered when Camilla was at the Lycan Academy, always top of her class, making The Luna’s Honor Roll over and over.
Her graduation speech was literally about fighting for the rights and welfare of she–wolves. Hespere still remembered her standing at that podium, her eyes bright and full of empathy
But the elegant, high–born she–wolf sitting in front of her didn’t feel like the daughter she knew anymore. She was just the nation’s Lycan Luna.
Hespere would have honestly preferred if Camilla was just too scared of Lycan King Erasmus: wrath to publicly support the Center. At least that would prove she still had a conscience
Hespere didn’t say another word. She let out a bitter smile, made an excuse, and left the palace
Meanwhile, at the Blackthorn estate.
The young werewolves who had penned the smear pieces handed their draft apologies over to Caldwell. He skimmed them briefly before shooting them down flat. The wording was vague, the apologies felt entirely forced, and the tone of the articles was still obnoxiously arrogant.
Caldwell tossed the papers back at the werewolves standing in front of him, laying down the
law.
“Rewrite them. Bring them back tomorrow. If the content is still garbage, don’t bother showing up again.”
One of the more defiant werewolves ground his teeth, shooting a glare as he talked back.

“You’re just doing this to mess with us on purpose!”
Caldwell lifted his gaze, fixing the kid with a deadpan stare.

“What you wrote wasn’t an apology, it read more like a public hit piece on every single she wolf in the country. Do you boys not have mothers? Is there zero empathy in you?”
