“Clean your drool,” the deep whisper brushed against my ear, and I nearly jumped out of my skin.

My head snapped toward Ryder, watching as his eyes danced with amusement with a lazy smirk pulled at his lips.

“Excuse me?” I hissed.

“Nothing,” he said innocently, lifting a shoulder, “just thought you should know you were staring.” I couldn’t stop the way m cheeks heat up at his word, knowing that he wasn’t at all wrong.

Because I was in fact staring, gawking, whatever it is you wanted to call it, and it was done shamefully might I add but I couldn’t help it.

My gaze drifted back to the person question, who was standing a few feet away, and once again, unfortunately for my dignity. Ryder had caught me staring at him.

I just

His lips remain raised, the amusement still in his eyes but he doesn’t call me out on it this time and instead folded his hand, glancing between Caelum and I, clearly entertained by the tension brewing in the air.

“What are you doing here,” the sound of Caelum’s voice dragged my attention back to his face as his expression remained unreadable, staring blankly at me, and I wanted it to change back to the way it was in the past.

The more he stared at me, the more I hated not knowing what was going on inside his head. For a second,, my eyes betrayed me and wandered downward again, straight to his chest.

But can you blame a girl

I have seen him shirtless before, but this, this was different. This wasn’t like the last time, where our needs were high, and not giving me the time to admire how perfectly sculptured he was.

Now, this was me actually getting the chance to appreciate just how ridiculously ripped he was, from defined shoulders, to hard planes of muscle, and a torso that looked like it belonged on the cover of a fitness magazine.

Suddenly I found myself wondering why on earth he had been keeping this a secret. Like serious, this would have been his winning ticket to being one of the popular guy in school, way more than most of the jocks.

If the girls at school got one look at him like this, they would lose their minds, there might probably be chaos. The thought almost made me laugh, and then I remembered he’d asked me a question.

Right

Focus, Delilah

I forced my eyes upward until they met his. “I’m here to talk to you.”

His jaw tightened as he stares at me for a second before rolling his eyes. “I don’t do Fridays,” his words came out flat and very much dismissive as if I wasn’t worth more than three seconds of his attention.

Without giving me any more glance, he turns, walking away and I remained rooted in my spot, staring after him. At this point, my irritation had skyrocketed.

Beside me, Ryder watched Caelum’s retreating figure before looking back at me. “Trouble in paradise, it seems.”

I turned and glared hard, not caring how insanely attractive he was. He immediately raised both hands in mock surrender.

“Hey, don’t look at me. I’m not the one who has you all frustrated,” his smirk widened and I was beginning to hate that smirk. One that showed he knew things, maybe far too many things.

My eyes narrowed. “You enjoy being annoying, don’t you?” I asked, not caring that this was the first time we were meeting. and he obviously didn’t to, seeing the way he had been acting like he knew me for a while.

“It’s a gift,” he responded, his eyes glittering even more.

I scoff at this. “More like a disease.”

His bopped back, as he laughed, the kind that made him look less irritating and more human, and unfortunately, it made it harder to hate him.

Ryder studied me for a moment, his head tilted slightly to the side something amused flashed through his eyes again.

“Easy, I’m not the one who got you all worked up and frustrated.” I frowned.

“What?”

The smirk on his face grew as he continued. “Is this like you guys thing, just curious, if this is how it works for you two. Were you piss each other off, then end the day to jerk off or give him an insane blowjob.”

My eyes widened at this, caught off by his words. I can’t believe Caelum had told him about us, I thought he had been discreet. Just how much had he told Ryder, how into detail had he gone into.

I couldn’t stop the way my cheeks heats up, not sure what to say.

What exactly do one say in this type of situation, honestly

His gaze sweep through my face, taking in my reaction and I could see how pleased he was with it. Then he smile, adding. “You should relaxed, I know my cousin.” the word cousin caught my attention.

Right

They were cousins

I still wasn’t completely used to that information, and also still trying to get out of my shock.

“And trust me, he didn’t exactly give me a detailed report.” My shoulders loosened slightly when he adds. The amusement remained when he takes in the relief in mine and he carries on, “but I did notice some changes.”

Raising an eyebrow at this, his head bops back again as he laughs. “The guy used to be sexually deficient, and barely even knows anything sexual.” He grins, “but then suddenly starts jerking off, and then say he was getting lessons from a certain blonde girl.” He lifted both hands, emphasizing the words lesson.

“A certain blonde girl,” my stomach did something strange, that I most definitely refused to acknowledge.

“And according to him,” he continued, “she has blue eyes, a terrible attitude, extremely beautiful, gorgeous, and is way out of his league.” My eyes widened.

Wait

What?

Beautiful..gorgoues, out of his league

I stared at him, trying to determine whether he was joking, but he didn’t look like he was joking, and for some reason, that made my heartbeat stumble.

Had Caelum actually said that, or was it just Ryder making things up?Knowing him, even if we were just meeting for the first time, I can’t help but feel either was possible.

Chapter 54

His gaze lingered on me, long enough to make me uncomfortable, “What..” I asked.

His head tilted slightly as if he was trying to solve a puzzle’, and then he bit the inside of his lip before shaking his head. “Nothing.”

“It’s clearly nothing with the way you are staring at me.”

“I doubt it was any worse than the way you were practically eating Caelum up

I scoffed at this, looking away. “I have no ideas what you are saying. “That earned me another laugh as he takes a step back, putting more distance between us.

He then nudged his head as he says. “Run along.” My brow furrowed at this, “come on,” he says again, nodded toward the hallway Caelum had disappeared down. “Follow him.”

My lips parted to a second before closing it and Ryder shook his head. “Trust me,” this time there something softened in his expression. “Maybe Caelum might just get lucky.”

My brows pulled together. “what does that mean.”

But he had already turned away, walking toward the entrance and leaving me standing there with more questions than

answers.

I watched him disappear before turning forward, then I headed in the direction I had seen Caelum go. A minute later, I stepped through another doorway, just for my steps to halt in place, completely speechlessly at the sight before me.

Caelum was boxing

When I mean, I mean actual boxing, with gloves on and all.

The heavy punching bag swung violently with every hit, making a thud sound with each hit, one that echoed throughout the room. His movements were precise, controlled and powerful.

I didn’t know much about boxing, honestly, I knew almost nothing, but judging from his stance and the way he swung, even I could tell he was good.

Like, really, really good.

His feet moved smoothly across the floor, as his shoulders rotated with practiced ease, with every punch landed with frightening force.

The bag barely had time to settle before another hit connected, his muscles flexed beneath his skin. Sweat glistened across his shoulders and chest under the overhead lights.

His breathing was steady, focused, as if he had done this hundreds of times before, maybe even thousands.

I gawked at him again, which was apparently becoming a habit. “I just do not understand,” the words slipped out before I could stop them.

Caelum’s fist froze as the bag continued swaying slowly, back and forth. Then he turned, the ispleasure immediately settled across his features.

“You still haven’t told me what you are looking for here,” my gaze dipped briefly, a mistake, because now my eye were trained on the sheen of sweat trailing down his neck and the way it disappeared beneath the waistband of his shorts, along with the rise and fall of his chest.

I forced myself to focus, again. “I already told you,” his expression remained unimpressed. “I wanted to talk.”

He rolled his eyes, then turned back to the punching bag as if the conversation was over. My temper flared at this as I
