Chapter 75
“Oh?” Bethany smiled, especially when she noticed the crowd of onlookers gathering outside her office.
“Yvonne, are you sure you want me to show you the evidence?”
Yvonne’s confidence wavered, but then she rallied. Even if Bethany knew about her relationship with Antonio, she couldn’t possibly reveal it in front of all these people.
Bethany had no intention of mentioning Antonio. Instead, she made a phone call, and soon a front desk employee from the main branch arrived at headquarters with surveillance footage.
“Ms. Porter, here’s what you requested.”
Bethany’s lips curved as she inserted the USB drive into her computer. “Want to watch?”
Yvonne’s heart jumped. “Stop bluffing. If you’ve got something on me, show everyone! Otherwise, I’ll sue you for defamation!”
Bethany hadn’t expected someone to be so stubborn. She thus started up the video. This was the same evidence Karen had in her possession.
It clearly showed when Yvonne followed the client into a private room and when she came out.
Of course, Bethany knew that Yvonne probably hadn’t actually done anything with him. But she only needed ambiguous
evidence.
“I didn’t do anything!” Yvonne looked around frantically at everyone.
“Listen to me! I really was just discussing business with a client.”
“Couldn’t you have discussed it in the lobby? Or at a restaurant? You just had to get a hotel room?”
Yvonne felt utterly wronged. She’d thought it was strange that day too, but the client had said he wanted to see their executive suite, so they’d just chatted in the room for a bit.
Needless to say, Yvonne knew how to flirt with clients, but they hadn’t crossed any lines, which made this accusation all the
more unfair.
The onlooking colleagues gasped, their expressions shifting as they formed their own judgments about the kind of person
Yvonne was.
“We really were just talking business! I couldn’t possibly be involved with him. I have a boyfriend. If you don’t believe me,
ask Mr. Reeves!”
A deathly silence fell over the room.
Bethany just smiled at her, not expecting anyone to be so foolish as to expose themselves like this. “Mr. Reeves? Mr. Reeves knows you have a boyfriend?”
More people began crowding outside the office, and Yvonne only dug herself a deeper grave.
Finally, Antonio arrived and snapped at Yvonne, “Enough! Firing you was my decision. If you’re not satisfied, take it up with HR or file a complaint with the labor board!”
Yvonne looked at the man helplessly. “Mr. Reeves, you…”
Antonio glanced around. “What are you all staring at? Don’t you have work to do? Everyone, disperse!”
He shot Bethany a long look before leaving without another word.
The day before, Demi had fought with him over half the night, and waiting for him at the office today was another mess.

Antonio knew there was no saving Yvonne now.
Yvonne collapsed into a chair, utterly devastated.
Bethany thought she looked rather pitiful.
Yvonne was a kept woman who’d gotten too arrogant for her own good.
She suddenly thought of herself. Well, at the very least, she was thankful that she wasn’t this pathetic.
The colleague who’d gossiped about Bethany with Yvonne that day trembled with fear.
Yvonne had been caught calling Bethany shameless, and today, she’d been fired for being shameless.
Thinking about how ruthless Bethany was, the colleague was left terrified.
Bethany had no idea she’d just established her authority again without even trying.
“Hey, this is so weird. That dragon–like lady from the finance department approved my expense report really quickly today. I already got reimbursed.”
“Keep your voice down. You’re dead if Ms. Bagot hears you. But yeah, I got mine, too. She usually loves holding up our reimbursements for some reason.”
Bethany’s lips curved. Was this Demi’s way of thanking her?
