"She wouldn't want it either," Amos stated firmly. He was clear-headed enough to advocate for Starla's wishes. Now that she was gone, he didn't want things to get any uglier. "She never wanted to be with you. Just let her go."

She hadn't been able to completely rid herself of him in life; couldn't he at least grant her peace in death? Hearing this, Fairfax's expression turned absolutely thunderous.
