With that heavy thought in mind, Susanna realized going back to Yoran Country was the only logical step left. Even after the devastating cost of her escape, it was precisely that sacrifice that shackled her to the Hoggart family's mercy.
Her chest tightened, aching with an unbearable pressure.
Fairfax had been an absolute wreck for days, leaning heavily on Amos for support.
Early the next morning, Amos showed up at the villa again. Fairfax was still passed out, sleeping off a massive hangover.
But Amos noticed Susanna quietly packing a small duffel bag. He frowned. "Are you leaving?"
She gave a stiff nod. "Yes."
"Where to?"
Realistically, this was the worst possible time for her to leave the Cyrus Sea. Yardley Hoggart had his eyes trained directly on her. The man was on a total warpath, enraged by Starla's death, and he was taking it out on the entire Yelchin family. Fairfax and Susanna were squarely in his crosshairs.
Her relatives were currently locked in his dungeon, their fates completely unknown. Stepping out of the safety of the Cyrus Sea was basically a death wish. It was the only place she and her brother had any real protection.
"Yoran Country," Susanna replied flatly.
Amos blinked, stunned. "I'm sorry, where did you just say you were going?"
Is this girl out of her mind?
Before she could even defend herself, he fired back, "Do you have any idea what it cost to get you out of that place?"
Did she seriously think the sacrifices made for her were just some trivial inconvenience? What about Starla? Did her life mean absolutely nothing?
In that brief moment, Amos completely understood why Yvonne couldn't stand this girl. It was infuriating.
"I don't have a choice," Susanna wept. "My family is in his hands."
She was shattered. If she had known her freedom would cost so much blood and drag her entire family into this nightmare, she never would have left in the first place.
"Does he know?" Amos asked, gesturing toward Fairfax's room.
When Susanna was initially captured by Yardley, Fairfax had been frantic to save her.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
