She looked down at her plate. "Just leave her alone."
He rubbed his temples, a headache forming. "Fine. We'll start packing."
Since Romy wasn't leaving, they couldn't stay in Smaro Town. This time, Starla didn't argue. She gave a simple nod of agreement, which brought him a marginal sense of relief.
"We have a lot of time ahead of us, Starla," he murmured. A lifetime.
She didn't respond. A long time ahead? She only wanted her future to belong to herself.
Herbert's phone buzzed. He stepped out to take the call, returning a few moments later with a grim expression.
Shortly after, Romy slipped into the room.
