A bitter thought flashed through Starla's mind: *The Yelchins are a goddamn plague.* First they destroyed her, and now they were destroying Yardley.
Yardley was a lethal fighter. Within seconds, he had Luce on the defensive, though Luce was clearly holding back, unwilling to injure the heir, especially since Yardley was already wounded.
"Sir, your father won't be pleased if he finds out about this," Luce warned, his voice hard.
Yardley ignored him, advancing on Starla with pure malice.
Luce stepped in front of him again. "Mr. Hoggart!"
In a blur of motion, Yardley drew his gun and pressed the barrel directly against Luce's forehead.
Starla's eyes narrowed.
"Luce, I don't want to do this. You know that," Yardley growled.
Luce's expression darkened. "Then go ahead and take my life, sir. Do it for the man who tore your sister apart."
