Not only was she unworthy, but she didn't love him. She hadn't offered him a shred of genuine affection. To feed him such a potent poison… she was a modern-day black widow.
Darleen nodded in agreement. "Fairfax, this time, we have to teach her a lesson. You've spoiled her rotten all these years. It's time she learned that without you, she is nothing. She won't be getting out of that cell."
The women's voices swirled around him, a cacophony of accusations that made Fairfax’s head throb.
"Enough!" he roared, silencing them instantly.
Xenia, who had been about to say more, froze at the sheer force of his command.
Brinley tried a softer approach. "Faraday…"
"Get out. All of you, get out!" Fairfax snarled, cutting her off before she could finish. He couldn't stand the sight of any of them. It was as if his words went in one ear and out the other. Had they not heard a single thing he’d said before?
Darleen made one last attempt. "I know you can't bear to see her suffer, but if you dare get her out of there, I'll kill myself."
His unwavering defense of Starla was driving Darleen mad. She had always disliked the girl, but Fairfax's constant protection only deepened her resentment, which had now reached its peak.
Fairfax shot her a look so cold it could freeze fire. Darleen opened her mouth to argue further, but the chilling darkness in his eyes made the words die in her throat. Fuming, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the room.
Seeing Darleen leave, Brinley and Xenia hesitated. Xenia spoke first, still trying to shield Brinley. "Whatever you do, bro, don't blame Brinley. She's been trying to speak up for Starla. It was Mom who called the police."
He had been wondering about her sudden change in demeanor. So that was it. The broth was poisoned, and she had carved him up with that soft, loving gaze.
What a ruthless woman. Had she really resorted to this just to get a divorce? First the fire, and now poison?
"Forget it," he said, his tone shifting. "Let her stay in there for a while. It's time she learned a lesson. Let her suffer a bit."
The words that were meant to free her had twisted into a sentence, a chilling blend of possessiveness and punishment.
Thinking of the way she'd fed him that nourishing broth, Fairfax concluded grimly, “I really have spoiled her too much over the years.”

Why The ML is Idiot 😂😂😂 i Dont understand,i Think herbert is more suitable to become the ML he is most compose and calm than the ML 😂😂...
"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
