Reading the desperate text, Starla raised an eyebrow. "Feeling sorry for him?"

"Sorry for him? Hell no. Let him suffer," Tanya scoffed. "I told him to distance himself from Fairfax, but he didn't listen."

Starla was exhausting a tremendous amount of energy systematically dismantling the Yelchins. Anyone who tried to get in her way deserved whatever consequences came to them.

Tanya didn't even bother typing a reply.

Knowing she had read it, Darian sent a pitiful, pleading emoji.

Tanya replied with a single word: [Deserved!]

Down on the winding driveway, Darian and Caden were drenched in sweat, completely ignoring the freezing night air. This was more exhausting than a solid hour in the boxing ring. "Are you actually dating Tanya?" Caden wheezed.

"Yeah," Darian grunted. "She's great."

Caden shook his head in disbelief. Darian had always seemed like the ultimate bachelor. Well, actually, Herbert was the one who seemed completely untouchable. But out of nowhere, Herbert was obsessed with Starla. Nobody understood how or why those feelings had developed.

"Did you ask her to help us out with Starla?" Caden asked desperately.

"I did. It's useless."

"How do you know it's useless if you didn't even talk to her?"

"We share a psychic connection!" Darian gasped dramatically.

Caden rolled his eyes. "You've got to be kidding me."
