A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 672

Outside, a chaotic scene was unfolding. Darleen was being shoved roughly to the ground by several people, while an elegant woman in a mink coat delivered two sharp slaps across Brinley's face.

"It's the Yelchin cadet branches," Starla observed.

They had finally brought their outrage to the main estate. She knew this would happen. When the money was flowing, these extended relatives had constantly circled the main house, treating Darleen with utmost respect. Now, their true colors were showing.

"They look like they want to eat her alive," Tanya remarked, taking in the violent display.

"Eating her would be letting her off easy."

"Did you leak the news that Darleen is the root cause of all this?"

Starla gave a simple nod.

"I knew it. I knew you had a backup plan," Tanya said. She had watched Starla treat Darleen ruthlessly over the past few days, but she knew it wasn't enough to avenge a mother's murder. Not for Starla.

...

Out in the courtyard, Brinley, who had just suffered a beating from Darleen earlier, was now being indiscriminately slapped by the furious relatives. Her ears were ringing so loudly she could barely hear.

"You... you're crossing the line!" Darleen shrieked as she was shoved into the dirt.

Leland Yelchin glared down at her. "The old man never thought much of Harley, and it was all because of you! You helped him steal the Yelchin Group, thinking you were so capable. Now, the whole family is ruined because of you!"

"Exactly!" another voice chimed in. "We heard everything! You caused the death of Starla's mother, and that's why she's retaliating against us!"

But with her slender frame, she was no match for the furious aunts and uncles, who had long despised her arrogant attitude. They eagerly turned their fists on her as well.

"Ah! Stop! Let me go!" Xenia shrieked as she was shoved to the ground, her hair yanked painfully.

Brinley had wanted absolutely no part in this, but the mob had already branded her as one of the main culprits. She was forcefully dragged into the beating, unable to escape.

Screams, curses, and the sounds of physical blows blended into a chaotic symphony outside.

After what seemed like an eternity, the two extended families, still not fully satisfied, tried to storm the house to confront Starla directly. But the bodyguards blocked their path.

It was the first time they had ever been denied entry to the main Yelchin estate. This place used to be their gathering spot, the heart of the family. Being locked out only fueled their manic rage.
