Herbert Farley recounted every detail of what happened back then with pinpoint accuracy. He offered a level of granular detail that Fairfax Yelchin had never once provided. Though years had passed, and Starla Lansbury wouldn’t have been able to recall those specifics on her own, hearing Herbert speak brought it all rushing back in vivid clarity.
The more he spoke, the paler she became.
By the time he finished, she was completely withdrawn. She stared at him, unable to process the bombshell.
"So, he lied to you. Do you understand now?" Herbert gently took her hand.
"So, you're the one...?" She couldn't even finish the sentence. Suffocating under the weight of the revelation, she sniffled, her throat tightening painfully. Tears welled up in her eyes. Her breathing grew shallow and rigid. "You..."
She parted her lips to say more, but words failed her completely.
Herbert pulled her into his arms, lifting her onto his lap and pressing her head against his chest.
The moment the light was blocked from her eyes, Starla burst into sobs. Her cries were laced with overwhelming grievance and raw pain. The man’s broad, warm hand gently cradled her head. He didn’t say a word, simply letting her cry, giving her a safe harbor to vent the sudden, crushing sorrow welling up from deep within.
Her weeping grew louder until, exhausted from crying for who knew how long, she finally went still against his chest.
So this was why Herbert had been treating her so well lately. And this was why, despite Fairfax marrying her, the Yelchin family had never shown any gratitude for that past event.
The root cause was that Fairfax had fabricated the entire thing! No wonder she always felt like the Yelchins were completely in the dark. They truly had no idea!
Just as her sobs began to subside, tears spilled down her cheeks all over again.
"When did you find out?" she asked, her voice hitching.
After that, Starla had started fighting back against the Yelchin family. And Herbert's stance shifted right along with hers. Before, it had been a private marital issue between her and Fairfax. But once the truth of that past rescue came to light, everything changed.
Starla sniffled, falling silent.
She finally understood why his attitude toward her had been so exceptionally attentive.
Later that evening, Tanya Mercer came over to keep her company. Seeing Starla’s eyes swollen like walnuts, she gasped. "Why are you crying like this? Didn't the Yelchins get kicked out of the estate today? What's going on? Are you actually feeling sorry for them?"
Crying at a time like this made it easy to jump to the wrong conclusion.
Starla shot her a flat look. "Do I look like the type?"

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
