But Brinley clearly wasn't going to give her that luxury.
As breakfast wrapped up, Reba stepped forward. "Miss, it's time to go."
"Where are you taking her?" Herbert asked, his brow furrowing as he noticed Yardley's personal bodyguard taking charge of Starla.
"My brother told me to follow Reba todayโ"
"There are certain family properties the young miss needs to familiarize herself with," Reba smoothly interrupted. "Mr. Hoggart instructed me to show her around today."
Starla instinctively glanced at her.
Reba offered Herbert a polite smile. "Actually, I'm the one following her lead."
Starla blinked. Was that true? Yardley had specifically told her to follow Reba. The distinction mattered immensely. If Reba was following her, Starla was in charge. But Yardley's exact words meant Starla had to obey Reba today.
Realizing Reba was actively covering up the truth in front of Herbert, Starla didn't correct her. She simply nodded at him.
"Go ahead, then. It's getting late," Herbert said.
"I'll be taking my leave with the young miss," Reba said respectfully.
Herbert nodded, and Starla followed Reba to the car.
Once inside, Starla looked at Reba through the rearview mirror. "You didn't want Herbert to know what we're actually doing today?"
"You don't even know what we're doing today, Miss, do you?"
Reba checked the rearview mirror, noticing Starla's pale face. "Carsick?"
Reba was a striking, icy beauty. With her blonde hair pulled back, wearing a black vest and cargo pants, she looked every bit the elite, lethal bodyguard. Despite her gorgeous features, she radiated an intense, aggressive aura.
"A little," Starla admitted, pressing a hand to her stomach.
Reba slowed the car slightly. "Whatever places we go today, and whatever tasks we do, you are not to tell Mr. Farley."
Starla's eye twitched. "Why?"
The moment she asked, she realized the answer. Even if her relationship with Herbert was solid, the inner workings of the Hoggart family weren't meant for outsiders. But back in Marina City, Yardley had practically broadcasted the message that Herbert was entirely trustworthy. Was Reba's warning a direct order from Yardley, or just her own professional paranoia?

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
