A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 778

In her marriage to Fairfax, she had been nothing but an absolute fool.

"Have they found him yet?" Tanya asked, seamlessly transitioning away from her own drama to check on Starla.

As far as Tanya was concerned, Starla needed to close the chapter on Fairfax as quickly as humanly possible. If they didn't finalize the divorce soon, there was no telling what kind of unhinged chaos he would scheme up next. With his family's empire reduced to ashes, he undoubtedly harbored a lethal grudge against Starla.

"He's in the Cyrus Sea," Starla replied.

"They found him? Then have someone grab him and force him to sign!" Tanya said, offering her usual blunt, cutthroat logic. A guy like Fairfax needed to be physically severed from Starla's life.

"We can't exactly just grab him."

"What do you mean? Can't your brother handle it?" Tanya asked, genuinely shocked. Starla was backed by the immense power of the Hoggart family now. Was there anything out of their reach?

"The Cyrus Sea is controlled by my brother's rival. He can't just send his men into enemy territory."

"Then why doesn't Herbert send his people?"

If Yardley couldn't make a move, Herbert certainly could. His overseas network and resources were terrifying in their own right. "You and Herbert can't really move forward until this divorce is finalized anyway, right?" Tanya reasoned. In her mind, Herbert should be the one rushing to get the papers signed.

Starla went completely silent.

"He's getting back at me."

"He has the nerve to want revenge?" Tanya practically shrieked. "Is he out of his damn mind? After everything his family put you through, tearing them apart was exactly what they deserved! He has absolutely zero right to punish you!"

"I know. He's completely unhinged," Starla agreed. There was no debating that. He had always handled conflict like a psychopath, and this was no different.

"So he refuses to divorce you, and he's hiding out in your brother's rival territory. This is going to be a nightmare to finalize, isn't it?"

Starla sighed. "Yeah. It is."
