"This... this is..."
Tanya didn't even know how to finish the sentence. It was absolute madness.
"Does Susanna know who your brother really is?"
"I have no idea," Starla admitted. She had been in a state of shock ever since she heard the news. She still hadn't fully processed it.
"Why do I get the feeling there's way more to this?" Tanya muttered.
"It's not just your brother. Herbert, Fairfaxโnone of them are as simple as they seem." Tanya broke into a cold sweat on her friend's behalf.
She had assumed that once Starla returned to Yoran Country, her nightmare would be over. Instead, things hadn't ended; they had twisted into an even darker, more convoluted mess.
Fairfax had fled without finalizing the divorce!
Herbert, who should have been standing firmly by Starla's side, had aided Brinley!
And the most fatal blow of all: her own brother was entangled with Fairfax's sister.
"Everything is a complete clusterfuck," Tanya summarized. She wanted to untangle the threads, but there was no logical starting point. The entire situation was chaos.
"You're telling me," Starla sighed. Tanya wasn't the only one feeling overwhelmed; Starla was living in the center of the storm.
Tanya had thought her own life was a mess, but looking at Starla... even as the revered heiress of the Hoggart family, her reality seemed far worse.
"So what now? You can't exactly run away, can you?" Tanya asked. Given a mess like this, her first instinct would be to bolt.
"Where would I even go?"
"You make it sound like running away would magically detach me from the situation!"
"I just have this gut feeling that none of this is straightforward. Herbert's actions aren't simple, either," Tanya warned. She hadn't witnessed it firsthand, but her instincts told her that whether you looked at the events individually or as a whole, something was deeply wrong.
"I feel it too. There's definitely something happening behind the scenes that I don't know about," Starla agreed.
And she had been dragged right into the center of it. What made it unbearable was that the people pulling the strings were Herbert and her own brother...
"So about Herbert... did your brother really tell you to trust him?" Tanya pressed.
Starla hummed an affirmative.
Tanya didn't even know what to say to that. Trust Herbert? How could she? The man had helped Brinley!
"I honestly don't know what to tell you anymore. Just... be careful," Tanya finally said.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
