And with that, he infuriated his mother to the point where she slammed the phone down.
The room descended into a heavy silence.
Darian turned back to Tanya, who was still meticulously organizing her luggage. A surge of frustration overtook him. He marched over, snatched a piece of clothing right out of her hands, and tossed it onto the bed.
"What is your problem?" she snapped.
"Are you ever going to stop?" he demanded. He was out here going to war with his family for her, and she was doing nothing but trying to abandon ship?
Tanya reached past him to grab her clothes back. "Who's the one who won't stop?"
He dodged her hand. "Did you not just hear me defending you?" He had practically screamed at his own mother on the phone. Was she completely deaf?
"I'm way past the age where you can slap me in the face and fix it by handing me a piece of candy," she replied coldly. She had learned her lesson yesterday. Did he honestly think he could just wipe the slate clean by playing the hero today? It was a shame, reallyโone single incident had revealed the core truth of who he was. She wasn't naive enough to let herself be easily fooled again.
Hearing her brush off his efforts made Darian want to tear his hair out. "Who slapped you in the face? Be reasonable!" What was she even talking about?
Tanya didn't reply. She just stood there, staring at him.
A few seconds under her dead-eyed gaze was all it took for him to crack. "Fine, fine! It's my fault. I messed up, okay?" It was absolutely maddening.
"Messed up? You're never wrong," she replied monotonically.
"It's just because of how I handled the Yulisa thing yesterday, right? I'll change. I promise I'll change!"
"I don't need you to change, and I don't want to change you." Trying to change someone was a miserable, soul-crushing endeavor. People's true nature couldn't be overwritten overnight, which was exactly why she had no desire to try.
Her absolute indifference pushed him over the edge. "Then tell me exactly what you want from me." He couldn't appease her. He always thought he was a patient man, but right now, his patience was rapidly disintegrating.
"I just want to get away from you." Their relationship had run its course. He was the one violently refusing to let go.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
