She had zero intention of marrying Herbert, so why would she care about picking out a dress?
"Miss, what do you think of the one I'm holding?" a sudden voice chimed in.
Kara instantly shot a lethal glare at the girl who had spoken out of turn.
Just as she opened her mouth to snap at her, Starla looked up.
With one glance, Starla said, "Yes. That one's fine."
Kara swallowed her reprimand, looking stunned.
"You," Starla pointed at the girl. "Help me try it on."
It was Romy!
She had somehow smuggled herself all the way into Yoran Country and infiltrated the bridal team right under the Hoggarts' noses.
Romy offered a bright, professional nod. "Of course, Miss."
She quickly grabbed the gown. "Right this way, Miss."
"Let's go to the walk-in closet. I prefer some privacy when I change," Starla announced, standing up and waving off the other assistants who tried to follow her.
"Just her."
She looked directly at Romy.
Romy nodded enthusiastically. "Understood."
As Starla walked toward the massive closet, Romy hurried after her with the heavy dress.
As she passed Kara, the manager grabbed her arm hard.
"Watch your step in there," Kara hissed, clearly annoyed that a rookie had just stolen her spotlight.
"Yes, Manager Kara," Romy replied sweetly.
Though in her head, she was rolling her eyes so hard she practically saw her own brain.
The closet doors clicked shut.
Instantly, Romy dropped the act. But instead of helping Starla into the wedding gown, she started digging through the sleek custom cabinetry for casual clothes.
"You actually snuck in here?" Starla whispered. "Aren't you afraid they'll kill you?"
Just yesterday, Herbert had been ready to order her execution simply for being associated with Fairfax.
"Are we really going to Sylvan Vale?"
Romy had already laid out a full black outfit and started unzipping Starla's sleepwear.
To keep up appearances, she raised her voice. "Does the bodice feel too tight right here, Miss?"
"A little!"
"I'll make a note of it! We can easily have it taken out."
Outside the door, the assistants dutifully jotted down notes, assuming the dress was running a bit small.
Inside, Starla had completely changed into the stealthy black clothes.
Ten minutes passed...
Then twenty.
Then thirty.
Kara kept checking her watch, her anxiety spiking. Her assistant finally leaned in and whispered, "Manager Kara, does it really take this long to try on one dress?"
It had been half an hour, and there hadn't been a single peep from inside.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
