Abandoned While Pregnant, Claimed by the Alpha novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

Brian’s POV

The whiskey burned as it slid down my throat, but it didn’t even come close to quenching the fire of my rage. Without thi hurled the expensive crystal glass against the cold marble floor of Alpha Manor. The sharp shatter sliced through the sile the empty hall, echoing just like the sound of my heart breaking into pieces.

“I don’t love you anymore.”

Ashley’s voice, cold and emotionless, replayed in my mind like some cruel, broken record. Every word was like a jagged b dragging itself deep into my soul, over and over again.

That night after the banquet, my mark started to ache.

Ashley… she’d rejected me, and then she chose to be with someone else. Another wolf.

And when I called her, desperate for answers, I found out I had been blocked. Just like that.

Stumbling across the shards of broken glass on the floor, I made my way upstairs to a dimly lit room on the second floor. O bedroom. The place we once shared.

It was empty.

Not even a trace of her scent lingered in the air anymore.

The realization hit me like an arctic wind, numbing everything inside. I’d lost her. Completely.

With my legs giving out underneath me, I collapsed onto the massive velvet bed that used to be ours, clutching my head in m hands, pulling at my hair in anguish. I used to think there was no way she could ever leave me. I was so sure of it, so arrogant.

How wrong I was.

She was the Luna of the Blackwood Pack, someone I rescued, someone I gave everything to. She was supposed to stay by my side, loyal like a shadow, like she had no choice but to be mine/ But now? Now she’s gone. Left me for Hebert, that violent tyra

“Damn it!” The roar tore out of me, raw and full of anguish. My vision blurred, red veins streaking across my eyes, and guilt coiled around my chest like a chain of venomous snakes, squeezing tighter and tighter, crushing what was left of me.

I clenched my eyes shut, but it didn’t help. Her face-it’s all I could see. The softness of her smile, the way she used to hum while making dinner, the light in her eyes when she looked at me like I was her whole world. That light… it’s gone now. All that’s left in her gaze is disgust, pure and scornful. The weight of it what she’s done, what I’ve lost-it gutted me, left me gasping like air wouldn’t come. Pathetic as it was, I begged under my breath, pleaded with the Moon Goddess to pull me out of this nightmare, to make it not real.

And then, as if hearing me, something shifted. A scent. Her scent. Familiar, intoxicating, and so close.

My eyes flew open.

Moonlight poured through the tall windows, pooling on the Persian rug like liquid silver. And in the shadowed comer of the room, barely visible but unmistakable, stood a slender silhouette.

“Ashley?” My voice broke, shaking, hope clawing its way back into my chest

She stood there, wearing that familiar, pure white silk nightgown. The hem brushed lightly against her slender calves, ani lise slightly open neckline revealed her enchanting collarbones. Her sott, long hair cascaded over her shoulders, and is the moonlight, her eyes sparkled with a captivating glow

God, she’s back! She does care about me after all.

“I knew it-there’s no way you’d ever leave me, my Lam.” Tumutured feverishly, liber. finding an oasis. I shot up from the bed, stumbling as Enished toward her
