I had told myself I would ship out of his room before dawn. I couldn’t let him wake up and discover this absurd deceptic couldn’t so much as lift a finger. And what I could resist even less was the way Brian’s strong arms wrapped possessive my waist, locking me firmly against the warm wall of his chest.

“Don’t leave me… please don’t ever leave me. he murmured, burying his face in the crook of my neck, his warm brea trembling against my skin.

His words struck harder than a slap across the face, stinging me to the core. My eyes immediately burned with unshed tears crushing wave of humiliation and heartbreak stole all sense of reason.

I shouted at the top of my lungs, “Brian! Everything I did was because I’m crazy about you! How can you expect me to just sta by and watch you suffer over Ashley, who doesn’t even love you anymore? I gave you my broken, fragile self to comfort you, now you’re throwing me out like some stray dog?”
