I stood outside the room, my hand placed against the door as I spoke to Baxter.

There were only ten days left, and then I would get to meet my Baxter. I was so happy.

The doctor was optimistic as well.

Ever since Graham and Elgin apologized to Yuvonne, she had started to heal too.

We were working really hard to find the maid who had poisoned Ron's grandmother so that he could be free as well.

The world had started to heal.

The council leaders had begun to see the truth as well.

Lord William had promised that he would bring us justice.

She was really ecstatic.

So far, I had not received any news from Elgin or Graham, especially Graham.

After I had spoken with Baxter, standing outside his door, I returned home.

But right at the door, I knew there was a guest inside.

"It is bold of you to come out in daylight," I said to Mathew.

He chuckled, lowering his hat as if that would hide his identity.

"So what did you tell her?" I asked as I entered the garden, and he followed after me.

"Well, I spun her a little story that I abducted you for a few hours, filled a few bottles with your tears, and then let you go. If I killed you, all the blame would fall on Elgin and Graham."

He paused as we reached the big tree and stood beneath it.

"And definitely Elgin would take the fall because you were coming from his pack. The driver who ran away had also been a witness that you were coming from Elgin's pack the last time."

He explained, folding his arms across his chest and leaning against the tree.

"You didn't thank me," he mumbled.

"Are you always this much of a douchebag, or do you just behave like that with me?" I asked in confusion.

I had seen him around Elgin and Silver, and I had never seen him this much of a flirt.

But somehow, every time he was around me, he would start smirking and speaking with his eyes.

"To be honest, just you," he replied.

"Anyway, I just wanted to come and let you know that I'm on your side. I hope I have proven myself, just like that."

I was truly happy.

I wanted his comfort.

Over the course of time, I had seen people flirt with me but my heart remained fixated on Baxter. I was really missing him.

I could not wait to tell him everything that had happened and how we had won in the end.

That night, I had the craziest dream.

It was almost like watching two graves in front of me. One for Gina.

And the second one was Baxter's.

I woke up in a sweat and rushed to the window, looking outside at the sky.

I did not know why, but that cabin felt as if it was not done with us yet.

That monster was not done with me.

Then I heard my children screaming from their room.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up as I rushed into their bedroom.
