I made it back home after some time because midway through, I had to transition to take my anger out.

Nothing was helping, honestly speaking.

I was losing my mind with every passing minute.

When I returned home, as expected, my father was waiting for me, and so were Kaylee and her father.

"I just want to ask you one thing. Did you cheat on me?" Kaylee screamed as she came at me.

The moment she tried to punch me like she always used to do, I grabbed her hand and shoved her away so hard that she almost tripped, but her father supported her and prevented the fall.

Her father tried to step closer to warn me, but I raised my fingers at him.

That was my warning for him to stay back, and thankfully, he understood.

He did not want my anger to fall on him because he could tell I was already losing my mind.

"I'm not in the mood to answer anyone," I stated loud and clear.

"But just to satisfy all your egos, there was a video, and it is gone."

I continued while everybody looked at me as if I were some kind of liar, spinning another excuse for my actions.

Then I rushed back into my room, which was the guest room now.

I was beginning to realize that I wanted to change that.

I no longer wanted to stay in the guest room.

My room was the bedroom.

As soon as I entered the room, my father came up to me.

I turned to him and sighed tiredly.

"If you are going to punish me or yell at me..."

I only started speaking when a hand gesture from my father silenced me.

"You keep saying somebody deleted the video. I have a theory," my father spoke in a soft and gentle tone, not a judgmental one.

"Really? Tell me," I insisted because I was curious.

I was actually annoyed that nobody had believed me so far.

So when my father said he had a theory, I expected him to believe me.

"Yes, I think it is Kaylee."

As my father said those words, the hair on the back of my neck stood up.

"What do you mean?" I questioned, even though I already knew what he meant.

"There is only one person who could have been snooping around your phone, and I suspect it to be Kaylee," my father grunted, his hands on his hips, not looking guilty for accusing Luna.

However, the thing was that I believed my father too.

"Besides, I have noticed that your wife looks very happy after Penny's death."

My father's words ran through my head, and I knew exactly why.

I stared at him, wondering if I should tell him.

But there was a right time for everything, and I was going to wait for it.

"Yeah, I have noticed it too," I replied in the same suspicious tone, gently touching my temple because I could not look past the insult I had been put through.

"Don't worry about it. People will forget about it as long as you don't make another excuse," my father said, gently patting my shoulder.

He looked so tired.

Both of us had been through a lot.

And now she was someone I could not even get close to.

That proved the mistake I had made that led me to losing her forever.

"But if you try, you can be with her," my father retorted.

"I'm not asking you to force her, but try to win her heart. Redeem yourself." he continued.

"You know, all this lost reputation will come back once Madeline is on your side. She is kind of eye candy for everyone right now. The woman who is saving children."

He was not wrong though, Madeline was everybody’s desire now.

"The woman who can do no wrong."

My father continued explaining, and I began to ponder it myself.

However, for now, I had someone else in my mind.

"Father, I'm not thinking about Madeline for now. I have to fix my mistakes and heal first. But don't worry. In the end, Madeline will be with me."

As I said that, I placed a hand on my father's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.

My other hand rested on my hip.

However, my father looked a little confused.

"Is there somebody else in your life?" my father questioned, his brows furrowing.

"There is, and don't worry. She's way better than Kaylee."

I finished, taking a deep breath.

But when I looked back at the doorway, I saw Kaylee standing there.
