It's been weeks since Graham ran away.

I was still staying in his mansion as his Luna, but I could tell my privileges were going to get revoked soon.

Although my father was fighting really hard to keep me as the Luna of the pack and trying to convince everyone that I had no hand in whatever Graham had done, I knew that sooner or later they would appoint a new Alpha for the pack, and I would have to step down.

But I was not ready to lose everything.

My father chuckled.

I still didn't understand what he was trying to say.

"Speak with Elgin. Tell him you want to marry him. In return, he can take over the pack."

My father's words instantly made me shake my head.

"No. I'm still mated to Graham. And why would I marry Elgin?" I grunted as I got up from my chair.

"Do you not remember what Graham did to you? He was cheating on you. He made you afraid. Sooner or later, he was going to reject you anyway. He never loved you. If you couldn't secure his love, then at least secure his status. Secure a pack."

My father continued trying to convince me.

"And right now is the best moment. Elgin is broken beyond repair," my father mumbled.

To be honest, I didn't like the idea.

I had no desire to marry Elgin.

It wasn't as though he was a good person.

After the way he had treated Madeline, I was convinced that Elgin was the one influencing Graham as well.

But then again, my father was right.

Sooner or later, I would be kicked out of this mansion, and then I would be out on the streets.

I just didn't think I could continue living without luxuries now that I had gotten a taste of them.
