Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends (Madeline) novel Chapter 679

Madeline:

After planning everything with him and telling him he needed to wait before we took any further steps, I decided to return to the cabin.

To be honest, Byron's condition was really bad, and I was worried about him.

But as soon as I emerged from the woods and stepped onto the mountain trail, I heard voices behind me.

"There she is!"

It sounded as though a group of people had been lingering nearby, probably ordered by Elgin and the others to look for me.

An arrow flew straight at me.

I spun to the side and caught it in my hand.

When I looked at the people, they all gasped.

I threw the arrow back, and it struck one of them.

Then I realized running wasn't an option.

There were too many of them. They were coming from every direction.

So I decided to shift into my wolf form.

I was no longer hiding her. If anything, I was proud of her.

But the moment I tried to shift, they started throwing werewolf bombs at me.

That's when I realized why some of them were wearing those strange outfits and masks.

They were protecting themselves from the bombs.

The others, however, were simply there to distract me and hide the true plan.

They started coughing alongside me.

"Lena, can you still shift?" I asked.

"I can try, but there are too many of them," she replied. "If they get any closer, I can still fight them, as long as there aren't too many."

I understood what she was trying to say.

It was unfair of me to even ask that question when she had been bombed by wolfsbane.

I dropped to my knees, coughing and waiting for the fog to clear, but they threw another bomb at me.

Then another.

I grabbed one and hurled it back at them.

They all screamed in terror, but it wasn't enough.

Then an arrow shot through the fog and struck my shoulder.

That's what happens when the whole world is against you.

It becomes hard to fight, even when you're the strongest warrior.

I quickly pulled the arrow out.

Unfortunately, I used too much force.

The silver tip remained embedded in my shoulder while the rest of the arrow snapped.

"Ah," I groaned, digging my fingers into my shoulder while still on my knees.
