Madeline:
"Wait, so she asked for Byron? To take Byron in and help him?" my mother asked me, and I nodded.
"I remember vividly. She said that she could help adults while I could help the children."
My eyes shifted toward Livia, who shared a very scared glance with her mother.
"And I can take care of any sick people who are in a coma. All I have to do is mix my blood with the medicine you prepared, Madeline. That's how I was able to help both Baxter and Sawyer wake up," Livia explained.
Then she smiled brightly.
"Does that mean I'm special too?" she asked.
The fact that she even had to ask was really sad.
"You are special," I told her, giving her a comforting smile.
But then I straightened my back and clasped my hands in my lap.
We were sitting at the dining table, and all the food smelled amazing. I didn't even know how much I'd eaten.
Baxter, however, had eaten like a beast.
"I have very strong suspicions about Rosetta now," I mumbled as realization started to strike me.
Why would a random woman come to help me? Of course she had a motive.
She was related to me.
The fact that we'd been so close, yet I hadn't hugged her, made me feel guilty.
But it also made me question whether she'd known all along.
Another set of tears seemed to form in my mother's eyes.
"Why are you crying?" I asked her, getting up from my chair, scooting closer to her, and wrapping one arm around her.
"Because until yesterday, I still wasn't sure where my two daughters were, and today, I seem to have found my family," my mother expressed happily, causing both Baxter and me to look at Livia and my mother with nothing but love and affection.
We discussed everything.
The possibility that Rosetta might have known all along was the most painful part.
How could she remember? It didn't seem like she'd had anyone.
"Okay, we really need to go home now before my wolf wakes up," Baxter said, snapping his fingers at me.
I nodded before turning around and hugging my mother tightly.
"Very soon, we'll live together," I told my mother.
After saying goodbye to my mother and sister, I left the mansion with Baxter.
When we arrived home, Baxter had to rush upstairs because he had a lot of thoughts running through his mind.
We had to give him a small dose of medication to calm him down.
