"Yes, ma'am."
A couple of bodyguards came over, one of them leaning into the car to gently help Ethan out, while another stepped up to assist. Ethan was completely out, so deep in sleep that he didn’t even stir as they lifted him from the car and carried him inside.
Susan hurried over, looking worried. "What happened to Ethan?"
"He's just asleep, Susan. It's nothing serious, you don't have to worry," Mike answered, noticing her concern.
She blinked in surprise when she saw him. "Mike, what are you doing here?"
"Stephanie asked me to come over and help Ethan and Isabella with a few things. We're almost done, so I'll head back this afternoon." Mike lowered his voice as he watched Isabella walk into the house. "Isabella's wedding gifts were left at the Lane family home. Ethan took us over there today and got them back from Natalie."
Susan’s eyes went wide. "Seriously?"
"I was right there, and I brought the bodyguards for backup. The gifts are still in the car. Why would I lie to you?"
Susan glanced around and whispered, "Natalie must be furious. What about her and Ethan?"
Mike shook his head. "Whatever they had is over. Isabella’s already moved in. Natalie might be the lady of the Lane family, but she’s not the lady of the Adams family. Those gifts were for Isabella. Natalie had no right to keep them."
He looked at Susan. "You need to show Isabella a little more respect from now on. Don’t underestimate her. For Ethan to do this, it means Natalie is really in the past."
