After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 755

Even if Natalie was gone, Mr. Adams would probably carry her memory forever. That kind of thing isn’t easy to let go of.

“Isabella is my wife!” Ethan snapped at Nana.

Nana barely blinked. Honestly, nobody at the company was scared of Mr. Adams. Out in the world, people scrambled to please him, but here at the office, he was just another guy. When Isabella ignored him, he didn’t even dare speak up. He’d just stand there looking helpless and forlorn.

“Mr. Adams, you and Isabella are already divorced. Did you forget?” Nana fired back, her voice calm. “She’s your ex-wife now, not your wife. Maybe you should watch how you talk. Isabella is still young. She’s going to move on with her life.”

Ethan’s eyes flashed. “She won’t dare marry anyone but me. Let her try.”

Nana shook her head. “And you better not try to hurt her again, Mr. Adams. I might not have seen everything myself, but I’ve heard plenty. You tricked Isabella into marrying you, then kept hurting her over Natalie. Remember when you threw her out just because she refused to apologize to Natalie?”

“Did it ever cross your mind how it must have felt for her, being tossed out by her own husband for someone else?”

She looked him right in the eye. “People don’t turn cold overnight. It was your constant neglect and all those little wounds that finally froze Isabella’s heart.”

“Since you’re divorced, why not just let things end peacefully? Go live your life and let Isabella live hers. Don’t get in each other’s way. That way, everyone can move on.”

At least then, Nana thought, she wouldn’t have to deal with him every single day. Being a secretary was hard enough as it was.

“Mr. Adams, please,” she said, holding out her hand toward the door.

After Ethan and Harold had their falling out, Harold never visited The Cabinda Hotel anymore. The Carter Group owned plenty of hotels anyway. Back when Ethan and Harold got along, they used to go there because of him.

Ethan climbed into his car and didn’t say a word about where to go. They drove in silence for a while before he finally said, “Take me to our hotel.” Then he pulled out his phone and dialed Frank.

When Frank answered, Ethan asked, “Frank, do you have time for lunch today?”

“Lunch? Right now?” Frank replied, a little surprised.

He could tell Ethan wouldn’t call out of the blue if it wasn’t important, so he didn’t mention the other plans he had. Ever since the divorce, Ethan’s moods had been unpredictable. Frank figured this came first.
