“Mom, why do you always defend that woman? I’m your real daughter!” Natalie complained, clearly irritated that her mother always seemed to take Isabella’s side.

Adelina let out a sigh. “I’m not defending Isabella. I’m telling you the truth. Unless Ethan actually wants to be controlled, no one is going to control him. Not you, not anyone.”

“You’re already married, and the Lane family is no small deal. They’ve got billions. Jordan adores you, treats you well. Just enjoy your life with him and stop obsessing over Isabella.”

“No way. I won’t let Isabella have a happy life. I want her to suffer.”

Natalie’s eyes were cold. “Mom, I’m starting my own media company. I’ll make short dramas too. Whenever Isabella’s company puts out a hit, I’ll make my own version and rub it in her face. That’ll drive her crazy.”

Protecting creative work was almost impossible these days. People got copied all the time, and the best outcome was usually just getting the copy taken down or changed. Some people were so shameless, even if they were caught copying, they’d just deny it and even send their fans to harass the original creator. So many readers didn’t care about plagiarism, only whether the story was good.

Of course, they never cared because it wasn’t their own work being stolen. If they ever switched from reader to writer and got copied themselves, they’d finally know how painful and frustrating it was to fight for their rights.

His reply came almost instantly—a voice message. Natalie played it, and Adelina could hear Elton’s voice crystal clear.

“I know Isabella’s divorced. I’m single now too, and I’m ready to go after her. I used to lose sleep thinking about her. If Ethan hadn’t gotten in the way, she could’ve been mine already.”
